The Neal Senior Center Bake Shop, an extension of the Cobwebs 'n Confetti Gift Shop located within the Neal Senior Center provides the public with an opportunity to access a wide variety of homemade cakes and pies as well as homemade stickies through the Neal Senior Center. Some of the cakes available for purchase are pound cake, 5-Flavor Pound Cake, Rotten Coconut Cake, Fresh Apple Cake and Carrot Layer Cake. Harris Drive Shelby, NC will be sponsoring a Health Fair for seniors age 55 and better on Friday, September 20, 2013 from 8:00 – 11:00 a.m. The following services will be provided at NO COST: • Flu Shots – Clev. Co. Health Dept. • Oral Cancer Screening and Dental Health Education – Cornerstone Dental Associates • Hearing Screening – Shelby Hearing and Balance • Blood Pressure Screenings – Healthy@Home & Local Volunteers • Sleep Health – CaroMont Health • Stress Management – CaroMont Health • Wellness – CaroMont Health • Height/Weight/Body Mass Index – Pate Randall • Nurse Counseling – Local Volunteers • Spinal/K-Laser Treatment – Carolina Chiropractic Plus • Fasting Blood Sugar Screenings (Limited Number) & Diabetes Education – Clev. Co. Health Dept. We are pleased to announce that Walgreens Pharmacy will join us this year to provide additional Health Screenings to individuals that are interested. However, fees will apply for these services, which are as follows: • Total Cholesterol and HDL Package with Blood Pressure Test - $30.00 • Full Lipid Cholesterol Panel Package with Blood Pressure Test - $35.00 • Wellness Pack – Blood Glucose, Full Cholesterol Panel, Blood Pressure and Body Composition - $65.00 On October 18th, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Walgreens will be back at the Neal Senior Center to provide the Pneumonia and Shingles vaccine. If you are interested in one of these vaccines, please bring your insurance information to the Health Fair and complete the needed paperwork. Walgreens will process everything through insurance prior to the October 18th to find out the copay per your insurance carrier. Walgreens will contact your Doctor for your convenience if a prescription is necessary. Please make sure that you have your Doctor's name and telephone number available. Also, the Cleveland County Health Department will be providing Flu Shots as well on October 18th. During the Health Fair on September 20th, local healthcare agencies and Aging Services professionals will be on site available to share valuable information and to assist you as needed.
