"We are extremely grateful for the HealthCare Founda- tion of Cleveland County's support of our students. Hav- ing access to this fund for an unanticipated expense could be the difference between a student's dropping out and graduating," said Dr. Jason Hurst, president of Cleveland Community College. The HealthCare Founda- tion of Cleveland County En- dowed Allied Health Emerg- ing Needs Fund provides need-based assistance to qualifi ed part- or full-time stu- dents in any of CCC's allied health programs. Funds may be used to pay tuition, buy books and supplies, or cov- er other expenses that could prevent a student from com- pleting a program. "We are very excited about endowing this important fund," said Dick Baker, Ex- ecutive Director/CEO of the HealthCare Foundation of Cleveland County. "We have outstanding higher education resources in Cleveland Coun- ty, and we think it's part of our responsibility to enhance these healthcare-related pro- grams, particularly for county residents or for those who will stay in Cleveland County to practice. Hopefully, this fund will continue growing and serve as a springboard for other organizations to pro- vide new scholarship dollars or add to this one." About the HealthCare Foun- dation of Cleveland County Founded in 1990, the Cleve- land Memorial Hospital Foun- dation, Inc., was established to support capital projects and equipment for Cleveland Memorial Hospital.
