Jim Koury is a seeker of per- sonal truth, and desires to em- power others to find their own personal truth, whatever it may be. He is also an ac vist who is not afraid to speak his mind, and ruffle some feathers, if necessary. His main objec ve is to get people to think and think for themselves. He es- pouses Aristotle's mantra, "It is the mark of an educated mind to entertain a thought without accep ng it." Jim does not force his views on others but just puts them out there for folks to think about and discard if they wish. Welcome to the November issue of Diversity Rules Magazine. We are barreling fast-forward to the holi- day season. CRAZY! I am excited about this month's feature interview with "prolific character actor and stand-up comic," Jason Stuart! Born in the Bronx and raised in the Fairfax district of Los Angeles, he resides in Palm Springs and lives next door to his 85-year-old Jewish mother, Gloria, but does not live with her! Stuart is a self-described insecure Jewish kid who turned to theatre and per- forming to mask his emerging sexual iden ty. He confesses, "Barbra Streisand in "Funny Girl" saved my life". Streisand inspired him in such a profound, indescribable way, and like many other gay men of a certain age, ironically found himself a racted to Omar Sharif. He has concurred type cas ng by play- ing "Joseph Randall," a heterosexual, Chris an plan- ta on owner in 1831. A significant suppor ng role in one of the most talked about films in recent history is "The Birth Of A Na on" by filmmaker Nate Parker. The drama reflected the prejudice he's fought against his en re life and gave him the kind of confidence that he has today. Stuart, an LGBTQ rights advocate through his subtle characteriza ons, reflects his en- lightenment to his life's calling by combining his hu- manitarian beliefs with his mastery of the cra of ac ng. As a teenager, he played Santa Claus in a play. Wearing a fat suit afforded him the insight that being a Jewish and closeted gay teenager was like wearing a Santa fat suit. As a huge fan of "I Love Lucy," Stu- art saw Ms. Ball get the biggest laughs when she was pregnant. He realized the key to great ac ng is doing the unexpected, and performed the role as if he was "Lucy" pregnant! A formula that's worked for him, and he hasn't looked back since. In addi on to the Jason Stuart interview by yours tru- ly, there are some other great features and ar cles in the issue. I want to direct your a en on to an interes ng interview by Jamie Booth with Jason Cac- eres, who stars as Chayce in Boy Culture: Genera on X. The ar cle about the Sin City Sports Classic and accompanying Ken Scearce Leadership Award is also enjoyable. Last, Queen Sir Jet returns in this month's issue, who mixes muscle and fem in his new single and visual en tled "Male Femininity." Addi onally, Joey Amato takes us on a tour of Brookhaven, GA. The ar cle is another excellent summary of the many places that comprise our great na on. I hope you enjoy the November issue. Have a great Thanksgiving. See you in December. Yikes. LOL.
