A Cleveland County native, he the son of the late Jesse and Mary Spurling. Mr. Spurling served our country in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his daughter, Katie Horn and husband Jonathan; sister Wanda McSwain and husband Gary; and three grandchildren. Born on March 19, 1947, he was the son of the late Sebert and Gladys Lucille Nelson Toney. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Lorene Burks; and his brothers, Dranan, Charles, Hank, Sebert, Jr., and Thomas Toney. Mr. Toney served our country in the U.S. Army. He was born May, 21, 1931 to the late Sarah Backer Peters and William I. Peters, Jr. in Miami, Florida. His sister, Sarah Wilbur Peters Schreffler and her husband, Forrest Schreffler of Jensen Beach, Florida also preceded him in death. He served our country in the U. S. Navy.
