A steep hill across the street from Oak Glen Park,
between the library and police department, provides
long, fast rides. There is parking at the recreation
building and library at the bottom of the hill.

The Middletown Sports Complex
features a 1,500-seat ice hockey and
figure skating arena and offers a vari-
ety of unique opportunities such as,
learn to skate, ice hockey, public skat-
ing, DJ Skate events, and much more.
The Ice Palace in Brick was
built in 1962 by Dr. Leon J. Dwulet.
His daughter ran the rink, formerly
known as Ocean Ice Palace, for many
years before it was sold in 2021 to
the Harmony Hockey Group and
renamed The Ice Palace. Figure skat-
ing, hockey, and public skating com-
pete for time on the single indoor
rink, which is also home to the
Jersey Whalers Hockey Club. A pro-
shop and rentals are available and
the large coffee shop offers a variety
of snacks and meals. School teams
and many hockey clubs/leagues call
the Ice Palace home during hockey
season. Public skating is offered in
season, as are DJ Skate nights. Check
their website for hours and schedules.
The township of Toms River owns
the Winding River Skating Center.
A large indoor rink is complimented
by an open air rink outside. The facil-
ity has a limited pro-shop, but does
offer rentals. Snacks are available
