Born in Cleveland County on July 8, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Cly Jackson White and Mattie Lee Mode White Causby. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bobby" Bridges, sisters Ruth Bracket, Inez Smith, Ann Parker Ruyal, brothers Roy Dean White and David White, and step-brothers, Bobby Causby and Dean Causby. She is survived by her chil- dren, Robin Hamilton (David) and John Bridges (Shonda Stanton); five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one on the way; her sisters Faye Martin, Ruby Jean Rector; brother, Donald "Pete" Causby (Hilda); step- brother, Richard Causby (Shirley); sisters-in-law, Mary Bridges and Judy Causby; brother-in-law, J.R. Smith; a granddaughter, and a great- granddaughter. PHYLLIS JEAN BROOKS Ms. Phyllis Jean Brooks, 63, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023. She was born on February 18, 1960 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Wess Brooks, Jr. and the late Jessie Sutton Rainey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Brooks Pace and Carolyn Hopper Adams. Ms. Brooks is sur- vived by her daughters, Kizzy McSwain Gamble (Jermey) of Shelby, NC, Teshia Brooks and Rosa Davis Cook (Kori) both of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Betty Brooks of Shelby, Francine Dawkins (Byron) and Virginia McSwain (Ralph, Jr. both of Grover, NC and Nancy Brooks McSwain (Danny) of Shelby; eights grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held September 9, 2023 at Ellis Chapel Baptist Church. WILEY ALLEN Wiley Allen, age 95, of Kings Mountain, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023. He was born March 6, 1928, to the late Irvin Marion Allen and Maude Weathers Allen. In addition to his parents, Wiley is pre- ceded in death by his wife, Sue DeVeney, his brothers Haywood, George, Irvin Jr. (Tootie) and Aaron Allen; and his sisters: Adelaide Hamrick, Virginia Drake, Betty DeVeney, Nancy Danielson and Barbara Bridges and Freida Hawkins. MARY WIRTZ SKINNER Mary Wirtz Skinner, 65, of Shelby passed away on September 26, 2023. Mary was born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, on September 20, 1958, to Ervin and Betty Wirtz. She is survived by her two daughters, Holly (Andrew) Minion of Minneapolis, MN, and Tammy (Sean) Golden of Fort Lewis, WA; two grand- sons, Ryan and Marcus Minion; her sister and broth- ers: Liz (Dan) Supernand, Tim (Cindy) Wirtz, and Dan Wirtz; and brothers- and sis- ters-in-law. She is preceded in death by her husband, Michael William Skinner; parents, Ervin and Betty Wirtz; and two brothers, Joseph and Mark Wirtz. A service was held September 30 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Kings Mountain officiated by Pastor Jim Ogle. A private family interment took place October 1, 2023. Steven was born in Charlotte on July 25, 1959, he was the son of Bill Bell and Mildred Reiley Bell. David is also preceded in death by his grandparents. He was born in South Carolina on November 4, 1937 to the late Rosemond Jefferies and Martha Byrd Jefferies. Ralph was preceded in death by his mother and father; five sisters: Evoyn Cline, Gracie Drumman, Corine Dawkins, Ruby Richardson, Lennie Tate; and three brothers: Sand Jefferies, Chrile Byrd and Robert Byrd. Bill is survived by his wife, Tollie Moose Stowe, two sons: Marc W Stowe and Matthew T Stowe, and a granddaughter.
