A native of Cleveland County, he is the son of Brian Gipson and wife Maria and Jaime Gipson and fian- cé Doug Dawson, both of Shelby. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his girl- friend, Sarah McGowans of Mooresboro; sisters, Amber Ross and husband Keegan of Grover, Taylor Tomberlin and husband Chaz of Albermarle, Cristal Perez of Shelby and Madison Stiles of Dallas; brothers, Rafael Miranda- Perez of TX and Julian-Dale Gipson of Shelby; and grand- mother. Funeral services were held September 27, 2023 at Northside Baptist Church with the Rev. Neal Efird offi- ciating. Burial followed in Sunset Cemetery. He grew up in Terra Haute, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Opal Hankins and his sister, Barbara Ann. Mr. Hankins served our country in the U.S. Airforce. He is survived by his wife, Sandra, all the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. NC; and three step grand- children. Funeral services were held September 11, 2023 at Zion Hill Baptist Church, Cherryville, NC. Burial took place at the church ceme- tery. MARY JANE BOLIN Mary Jane "Janie" Bolin, 62, of Shelby, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. She is survived by a sis- ter, Nettie Mullinax of Shelby, NC, and a brother, Robert Bolin and wife Linda of Blacksburg, SC. Born December 30, 1960, in Cleveland County, NC, Janie was the daughter of the late William Perry Bolin and Leona Turner Bolin and was preceded in death by four brothers, Dean Bolin, Jimmy Bolin, Steve Bolin, and John Bolin. A funeral service was held September 29, 2023, at Cleveland Funeral Services conducted by Rev. Johnny Owens and Rev. Jerry Allen. Burial followed at Cook Memorial Gardens. He was born on December 22, 1974 in Shelby, NC to Jeanette Rice Morris and Joe Lewis Morris. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother. Johnny is survived by his parents, Jeanette Morris and Joe Lewis Morris (Christine) both of Shelby; three daugh- ters, Nykera Bush of Kings Mountain, NC, Stevelana McClain and Za'riyah Miller both of Shelby; siblings, Steve Morris, Anthony Morris, Donna Logan (Isaac), Kevin Morris (Lukiesha), Deitra Morris (Messy), Brandy Moore, Tina Lattimore, Joe Moore and Josh Moore. JO ANN BYERS RIDINGS Jo Ann Byers Ridings passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. She was a native of Cleveland County and the daughter of the late Arthur Benjamin Byers and Gertie Bivins Byers. Jo Ann is survived by her sons, Alan Ridings (Patti), Gene Ridings (Teressa), Jody Ridings (Diedra), David Ridings, and, Michael Ridings (Liane); ten grand- children; nineteen great- grandchildren; and sister-in- law, Nancy Ridings. In addition to her parents, Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Andrew Ridings, Sr., son, Jack Andrew Ridings, Jr., and a great-grandson. He was born December 14, 1950, in Kings Mountain, NC to the late Andrew Fowler and Inez Oates Fowler. Mr. Fowler served our country in the U.S. Air Force. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Davenport Fowler, sis- ter Lois Fowler and brother Jerry Fowler. He is survived by his sister, Pearl Fowler of Kings Mountain NC, four sons, James "Boo" Fowler (Manuela), of Germany, Torrance "TJ" Fowler of Kings Mountain, NC, Stegman Z Thompson of Syracuse, NY, Donnie Davenport (Twanette) of Shelby, NC, and eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren. Don was born Thursday, May 28, 1953 in Rutherford County to the late Roy Swink and Eliza Johnson Swink. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter; brothers, Harold Dean, Earnest and Durham Swink; and sisters, Dorothy Randall, Mozelle Tate and Cora Lee Hudgins. Those left to treasure his memory include his wife, Janice Silver Swink; sons, Anthony Chad Swink (Bre), Thomas Bryan Swink and Jonathan Trent Swink (Jerriann) all of Rutherfordton; sisters, Helen Shires of Mooresboro, Effie Blackburn of Shelby and Marthel Matheny of Rutherfordton; four grand- children; four great-grand- children and numerous step- grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. A native of Mexico, Elpidio was the son of the late Emiliano Ledezma and Maria Flores. He worked in construction locally and attended St. Mary's Catholic Church. He is sur- vived by his wife, Sandra Fernandez Gonzaga; and son, David Ledezma and wife Guadalupe, both of Shelby; and many other extended family. She was born on January 14, 1945 to the late Bertha McGill Surratt and the late J.D. Hull. In addition to her par- ents, she was preceded in death by her broth- ers, William McGill and Walter McGill and her sis- ters, Mary Frances Hull, Betty Sue McGill, Lorene Phillips, Mary Jean Surratt, Margaret Wilson and Pauline Williams. In addition to her parents Tommy and Angie, Sydni is survived by her sister, Shelly Stockton George, and hus- band Steven; her brother, Josh Stockton; her boy- friend, Grayson McKee; and sister, Kelly Jo Drum and husband JR.; her paternal grandmother and maternal grandmother.
