Born in Catawba County, on October 26, 1937, he was a son of the late Boyd Rhoney and Catherine Rudisill Rhoney. Mr. Rhoney served our country in the U.S. Marine Corp. In addition to his parents he is pre- ceded in death by four broth- ers, Gerald, Jackie, Larry, and Glenn Rhoney. He is survived by two sons, Chris Rhoney and Scott Rhoney both of Vale; a daughter, Carol Williams and husband Nathan of Vale; a sister, Annette Hull and husband Leonard of Vale; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. The funeral service was held September 20, 2023 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church with the Rev. Greg Plott officiating. The burial followed in the church cem- etery. Hoyle and Louise Grayson Hoyle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, William "Butch" Piercy. Survivors include her husband, Howard Bruce McSwain; daughter, Lynn McSwain Piercy of New House; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
