Entertainment Now | September 23 - 29, 2023 Sunday morning | 7 By Michelle Rose TV Media Rescheduled 'Transplant': Mark your calendars for Thursday, Oct. 12 — that's when Season 3 of "Transplant" arrives on NBC, and streams the next day on Peacock. The Oct. 12 date is one week lat- er than the previously announced premiere date of Oct. 5, but all things considered, this is just a slight delay. If anything, it gives NBC more time to build up some excitement for the new season, which already aired in its entirety north of the border. The most-watched Canadian drama series, "Transplant" has been renewed by original broad- caster CTV for a fourth season, which began filming in Montreal earlier this year. The medical series was also a big hit ratings-wise for NBC when the network added it to its COVID-impacted fall lineup in 2020, and Season 2 followed in March 2022. While NBC made no mention of "Transplant" when it first unveiled its fall 2023 lineup, the network quietly ordered sea- sons 3 and 4 in May. In Season 3, Bashir "Bash" Hamed (Hamza Haq, "Viking") continues trying to find his footing in his adopted country, where he pursues Canadian citizenship for himself and his younger sister (Si- rena Gulamgaus, "Chapelwaite"). In addition to series regulars Lau- rence Leboeuf ("Turbo Kid," 2015), Ayisha Issa ("Brick Mansions," 2014), Jim Watson ("Between") and Good Rand ("The Cry of the Owl," 2009), Rekha Sharma ("Yel- lowjackets") joins the cast as the new Chief of Emergency Medicine, Dr. Neeta Devi. Roll with it: Magnolia Net- work's Chip and Joanna Gaines ("Fixer Upper") are rolling out a new competition series for Max, and surprisingly, it doesn't have anything to do with home renova- tions or food. The former HGTV hosts are re- portedly developing a roller danc- ing competition. Touted as "the first-ever nationwide roller danc- ing competition series," the unti- tled project is also being described as "a nostalgic, family-friendly competition featuring the top roll- er-skating crews in America." Few other details have been re- vealed yet, but according to Vari- ety, which was the first to report on the project, teams from Atlanta, Houston, Las Vegas, Nashville, New York and St. Louis have al- ready been invited to compete on the show.
