Monuments of Distinction 704-481-1198 www.riverhillmonuments.com Family Owned & Operated Since 1957 ©Community First Media Community First Media I dreamed last night that you were gone. As the unavoidable news arrived, my heart broke into a million pieces. An emotional fl ood brought tears and waves of deep sorrow. Upon learning of your death, the family entered one by one. Everyone was functioning in a shocked daze. It seemed so real and yet unreal. Was I sleepwalking? I tried to wake myself, but the sequence of events continued to play out. The questions of, "how, what and why?" plagued me. In just a moment all that seemed fi rm and stable was turned into rubble. Memories fl ooded my mind. It was not long ago that we had talked. You were so full of laughter and life. We shared future plans and the prospect of a trip and some time together. The sound of your voice echoed in my mind just as if you were next to me. My heart yearned just to hold you once more, but you were not there. It was as though time had stopped. Was there no ending to this sadness? I kept thinking, is this real or only a dream? With the dawning of the day, the sun's light woke me. Laying there with a feeling of unrest, a sense of revelation came over me. Was the dream a notice from God? Perhaps it was a divine gift to teach me the importance of those I love. How often do we take for granted those who are a part of our life's fabric? One day the dream will be a reality and there will be no reprieve. We must be vigilant to love those around us before nightfall comes.
