Edward Daves Lee, 90, of Shelby, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023. Born in Cleveland County, on September 21, 1932, he was a son of the late Edward Yates Lee and Evelyn Daves Lee. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Vera Mae Baldwin Lee; a son, Michael Edward Lee; and two brothers, Bill and Ted Lee. He is survived by two daughters, Teresa Lee Olsen and husband, Kenneth of Shelby and Susan Shelby Lee Morgan and husband, Scott of Greenville, SC; a brother, Dale Lee and wife, Jan of Raleigh; a sister, Lynn Lee-Eldridge and husband, Kevin of Cary; three grand- children; and two great- grandchildren; and his long time friend, Honorii Wells. The funeral service was held August 11, 2023 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with the Rev. Randy Blanton, Rev. Carrie Carpenter and Rev David Lee officiating. HARRIETT TURNER REYNOLDS Harriett Turner Reynolds, 69, of Blacksburg, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. Born in Gaffney, SC, she was the widow of Mike Reynolds and the daugh- ter of the late Howard and Carolyn "Sissy" Sprouse Turner. Surviving Mrs. Reynolds are her daughters, Everly Hunter (Michael), Shay Harris (Todd), and Susan Smith (Sean); her son, Bo Reynolds; her sister, Phyllis T. Willis; and twelve grand- children. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Reynolds was preceded in death by four sisters and two broth- ers. Graveside services were held August 11, 2023, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Blacksburg, SC, with Rev. Tim Osment offi- ciating. KERRY MARTIN HANVY Kerry Martin Hanvy, 71, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023. Kerry was born to the late Frank E. and Margaret V. (McKennon) Hanvy. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Frank E. Hanvy, Jr. and Grady A. Hanvy; and sisters, Linda G. Blair, Sharon K. Cummons, and Betty L. Salisbury. He is survived by his wife, Helen B. Hanvy; a daugh- ter, Lorri H. (Michael S) Short; sons, Brian M. (Cindy S.) Hanvy, and Philip A. (Christina G.) Hanvy; daugh- ter, Angela Lorri H. Short; six grandchildren; and brothers, Terry E. Cassie is survived by her parents, Sherri Nichols and Lester & Gwen Conard; her children, Lei'Lani, 3 and Nevaeh, 2; her sister and her husband, Kaitlynn and Josh Lynn; her grandmoth- ers; and her great grand- mother. Born in McDowell County, on April 21st, 1946 , he was the son of the late Eliga Alfred Blankenship and Belle Walker Blankenship. Mr. Blankenship served our country in the U.S. Airforce during the Vietnam War.
