The Daily Star, Oneonta, N.Y., Friday, August 4, 2023 20 By Caroline Collacutt TV Media TV titans: Tie your shoes and gather at the starting line as Season 2 of "The Challenge: USA" kicks off with a high-oc- tane, two-part premiere, be- ginning Thursday, Aug. 10, on CBS, and concluding Sunday, Aug. 13. "The Challenge" pits reality superstars from the CBS-verse against each other, asking them to compete in (what CBS calls) "the most unpredictable and demanding game of their lives." CBS's description fur- ther shares: "With an ever- changing game, players will be in a constant state of para- noia, unable to trust anyone but themselves," as teams compete in numerous games, challenges and missions in or- der to win prizes and advan- tages in the game. As the com- petition heats up, some play- ers will be able to keep up while others will learn "The Challenge" is simply too chal- lenging to complete. This season features titan players and winners from CBS franchises such as "Survivor," "Big Brother" and "The Amaz- ing Race," along with (for the first time) some past contes- tants from MTV's own "The Challenge," all competing for the winning title and a spot on the upcoming series "The Challenge: Global Champion- ship," which is set to pit the best of the best "Challengers" from this global franchise – from "The Challenge: Austra- lia," "The Challenge Argenti- na: El Desafío" and "The Chal- lenge UK" — against each other in one massive competi- tion in Cape Town, South Afri- ca, which will soon be avail- able to stream on Para- mount+. Not only that, but this sea- son's winners — one man and one woman — will each earn the title of "Challenge cham- pion," and an equal part of the $500,000 grand prize. Hosted by T.J. Lavin (host of the original "The Challenge"), "The Challenge: USA" returns with a two-part premiere air- ing Thursday, Aug. 10, and Sunday, Aug. 13, on CBS. Fol- lowing episodes are set to air twice weekly through August on the same schedule. realtalk T.J.
