The Daily Star, Oneonta, N.Y., Friday, July 21, 2023 20 By Caroline Collacutt TV Media Buckle up: Taking to the streets of New York for one last "Wilson-worthy" ad- venture, the third and final season of the quirky (and often surreal) critically ac- claimed comedy docuseries "How To With John Wilson" premieres Friday, July 28, on HBO and Max. Described by the New York Times as an "ambi- tious, adventurous, wildly eccentric and incredibly smart comedy," the pre- miere of "How To" Season 3 marks the beginning of the end for the self-pro- claimed "anxious New Yorker" standing at the se- ries' helm — documentari- an John Wilson ("The Road to Magnasanti," 2017) — as he (according to Warner Brothers) "continues his heartfelt mission of self- discovery, exploration and observation," doling out advice to the real-life New Yorkers he meets along the way, as together they navi- gate a slew of everyday subjects, from how to find- ing public restrooms and working out to thoroughly cleaning your ears. In an interview with Vari- ety, Wilson shared his feel- ings on the series' conclu- sion, stating: "As we start- ed work on Season 3, I found it exciting to think of it as the last one. It ended up opening a lot of narra- tive possibilities that weren't available to us be- fore and gave us the free- dom to try some really am- bitious stuff.
