WASHINGTON COUNTY FAIR CONLEY MEDIA 2 JULY 2023 By Grayson Sewell gsewell@conleynet.com 262-306-5043 TOWN OF POLK — The Washington County Fair returns from July 25 through 30 this year, and with it all of the games and rides, fried food, exhibits that fairgoers look forward to year-round. In addition to all of the things to see, do and eat, there is also a plethora of musical acts making their way to the fair this year giving fairgoers some enjoyable music to hear. July 25 On the opening day of the Washington County Fair two rock bands will take to Do Drop In Music Stage, sponsored by Mur- phy & Prachthauser and Point Broadband, and the Why Go By Music Stage. The first band to perform at the fair will be Shut The Front Door, a rock/dance band, on the Why Go By Music Stage from 6 to 9 p.m. Shortly after, Dirty Boogie, rock, will get things started on the Do Drop In Music Stage from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. July 26 On Wednesday, three stages will have perform- ances throughout the day, and a fourth area will play host to Music Bingo. Music Bingo will be held at the WTKM Pavilion from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The first band to hit the stage, however, will be Larry Lynne Decades per- forming the hits of yester- day on the Why Go By Music Stage from 12 to 3 p.m., and Remington's Ride, a swing and dance hall honkey tonk band, will hit the Why Go By Music Stage from 6 to 10 p.m. On the Devenport Stage, sponsored by Healing Ele- ments Day Spa, the music will begin at 2 p.m. with Tony Rocker. The String Showdown will perform at the stage from 3 to 5 p.m. and Accompany of Kids will close out the stage from 6 to 7 p.m. The Do Drop In Music Stage will play host to Stetsin & Lace, who will play country music from 7 to 10 p.m. July 27 Thursday marks the start of the headlining per- formances on the Silver Lining Amphitheater at the fairgrounds with Mark Willis taking the stage at 7 p.m. to open for Rodney Atkins, who will go on at 8:30 p.m. On the Devenport Stage, Wesley Waffles will perform three children's music shows, 11 to 11:30 a.m., 2 to 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 to 5 p.m., and the Kewaskum Big Band will follow from 5 to 7 p.m. Music will begin on the Do Drop In Music Stage at 5 p.m. with Maple Road, a blues and rock band, who will perform until 8 p.m. At 9 p.m., Your Mom Band, who plays a variety of music, will hit the stage from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. The Why Go By Music Stage will open up at 6 p.m. with a set from The Nix, a classic rock band, from 6 to 10 p.m. The Now, a rock and pop band, will also perform on Thursday from 10 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. in the Entertain- ment Tent. July 28 The second headlining act will be Chevelle, who will perform at the Silver Lining Amphitheater at 8:30 p.m. According to the Fair Book, the opening act at 7 p.m. is still to be deter- mined. Wesley Waffles will be back on the Devenport Stage, with performances again at 11 to 11:30 a.m., 2 to 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 to 5 p.m. On the Do Drop In Music Stage, Lunacy, a 90s and hard rock band, will per- form from 5 to 8 p.m., and Whiskey Throttle, a coun- try rock band, will follow them from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Liquid Crush, a rock and pop band, will take the stage from 4 to 7 p.m. on the Why Go By Music Stage. The Entertainment Tent will also be home to some music again on Friday, with Cherry Pie, a rock band, performing from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. July 29 Saturday is the final day of the headlining concerts with Brothers Osborne per- forming at 8:30 p.m. on the Silver lIning Amphitheater stage. The opening act at 7 p.m. is still to be deter- mined, according to the Fair Book. Music will start on the Devenport stage at 11 a.m. with Accompany of Kids, who will perform until 12 p.m., followed by the River City Irregulars from 1 to 2 p.m. and Japanese Drums from 4 to 5:30 p.m. On the Do Drop In Music Stage, Random Maxx, a rock band, will play from 12 to 3 p.m., Detour will perform from 5 to 8 p.m. and Addiction will finish the night with a performance from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. The Why Go By Music Stage will bring 70s, 80s and 90s rock to listeners from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. when Still Undecided performs. At 4 p.m., Vinyl Road will hit the stage until 7 p.m. and 5 Card Studs, a 70s one hit wonders band, will perform from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. Music Bongo returns on Saturday at the WTKM Pavilion from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the Entertain- ment Ten will host FM Rodeo, a country band, from 10 p.m. to 1 p.m. July 30 Sunday marks the last day of the Washington County Fair. The WTKM Pavilion will hold Music Bingo one last time from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Sunday. At the Devenport Stage, there won't be any music, but a worship service and combined gathering will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The last two acts to play the Do Drop In Music Stage will be FallBack, a modern rock and pop band, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Jessie Marie & The Rippers, who will play rock hits from throughout the decades, from 4 to 7 p.m. The Why Go By Music Stage will be home to seven acts, on Sunday. The day will start with Lily Belz from 10 to 10:30 a.m., and be followed by TBD, a blue- grass trio, from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m., Jonny T-Bird and the MPs from 12 to 1 p.m., Nate John Herlache from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m., Ben Harold and The Rising from 2:30 to 3:45 p.m., Wildered from 4 to 5:15 p.m. and Drew Gill from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Cue the music Musical acts of many varieties will hit the stage at the 2023 Washington County Fair File photo Brett Michaels performs at the Silver Lining Amphitheater stage during the 2022 Washington County Fair.
