According to "Real Housewives of New York City" alums Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan, not a lot. To them, small-town Benton, Illi- nois, is a million miles away from the luxurious lives they live on the East Coast. But not for long: these Manhattan- based millionaires are about to get their hands dirty — and learn a whole lot about Benton in the process — when the all- new series "Luann and Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake" premieres, Sunday, July 9, on Bravo. Together, this "Real House- wives of New York City" duo trade in big-city living for small-town American charm as they venture out to Benton in an effort to share their exper- tise in revitalizing the nearly 7,000-person town. The city, once a bustling epi- center in its own right, was devastated by the pandemic, losing residents, businesses and a whole lot of hope along the way. Using their vast string of connections — while also creating some new friendships, alliances and teammates along the way — the duo "use their ingenuity to help improve the surroundings and rally the town's spirits," as Bravo ex- plains. In the process, de Lesseps and Morgan learn plenty about their host town, getting down to the nitty-gritty about every- thing from debilitatingly hot summer temperatures to Ben- ton's famous "testicle festival" — a spectacle, to say the least.
