Clifford's Army provides rescue for the injured, the sick, the feral, the frightened and the abandoned dogs in Cleveland County and be- yond resulting saving many lives that otherwise would be lost. "We are honored to be named a 2023 Top-Rated Nonprofi t," says Deb Hardin, founder of Clifford's Army Rescue. We are proud of our accomplishments this year, and will continue to save those in desperate need of physical and mental rehabil- itation. The Top-Rated Nonprofi t Award is based on the rat- ing and number of reviews that Clifford's Army received from volunteers, donors and aid recipients. "There is only one rescue I trust complete- ly with unsocialized puppies/ dogs - Clifford's Army Rescue (CARE). I have volunteered at 2 rural NC shelters and Clifford's Army Rescue has helped with feral dogs and dogs so scared that no one else is able to help them. And they stand by them month af- ter month sometimes it even goes into years as these dogs are not quick adop- tions. These dogs are saved from euthanasia and given a chance at a new life. CARE is an excellent rescue with exceptional experience and highly engaged supporters. These 5 dogs that I know per- sonally from shelters are alive and thriving today because CARE rescued them!" Clifford's Army Rescue is a great example of a nonprofi t making a real difference in their community," said Perla Ni, CEO of GreatNonprof- its, "Their award is well-de- served recognition not only of their work, but the tremen- dous support they receive, as shown by the many out- standing reviews they have received from people who have direct experience work- ing with them. GreatNonprofi ts is the largest donation website for nonprofi ts and where people share stories about their per- sonal experiences on more than 1.6 million charities and nonprofi ts. The GreatNon- profi ts Top-Rated Awards are the only awards for nonprof- its determined by those who have direct experience with the charities – as donors, vol- unteers and recipients of aid. The volunteers used PlusOptix's cam- eras to screen children that are partici- pating in Summer Camp. The screening devices feature Touchless Screening Technology. No physical contact is need- ed to screen. Lions KidSight USA is a nation-wide program that brings Lions clubs across the country together to ensure our chil- dren receive eye screenings and fol- low-up care when needed. 1-in-3 young children have poor but correctable vision - often just needing eyeglasses. Accord- ing to educational experts, 80% of learn- ing is visual. If children can't see well, they will have more diffi culty learning. The screening is not meant to replace a comprehensive eye examination and refraction that one can obtain through an eye doctor's offi ce. The vision screen- ing is designed to assess ocular health concerns and suggest further action by a licensed eye specialist.
