Where: Baker Buffalo Creek Vineyards & Winery, 3521 Fallston Waco Rd., Lawndale, NC. More Info: Come meet some of the CARE doggies available for future adoption. (NOTE, NO same day pet adoption.) The pups are excited to meet and greet you! You can relax with a cool drink, pet some sweet adoptable doggies, and meet new friends and connect with old buddies. CARE doggies will be there 12 to 4. We appreciate everyone's support. The awesome Beard-O Brothers food truck will be on-site and the incredible Josh Hudson playing music. How fabulous food, music and puppy dogs! We will be hanging out in the back, near the mule barn, with a splash pad for the doggies and the shade of the grand oak trees providing shade for all. Come enjoy a glass of wine (or two), great food, fellow- ship, and music and lots of puppy dog love. This will be a fun afternoon and we hope you will come join us. C.A.R.E (Clifford's Army Rescue Extravaganza) is a 501(c)(3) non- profi t, all volunteer, dog rescue organization. Saturday, July 15 Saturday, July 15 What: American Legion Post 82 Membership Renewal When: 10:00 am until Noon, July 15. Where: American Legion Post 82, 1628 S. Lafayette St., Shelby, NC. More Info: American Legion Post 82 will have a membership renewal day for all members. All Veterans are welcome. If you are a veteran and are not a member of the American Legion, please come see us. We are always looking for new members for all 3 Posts. The American Legion is the largest veterans organization in the nation. What: Pet Smart National Adoption Week with C.A.R.E. When: 9:00 am until Noon, July 15. Where: PetSmart, 733 E. Dixon Blvd., Shelby, NC. More Info: Come meet some of the adoptable dogs that are available from Clifford's Army Rescue (C.A.R.E.). We will have many different dogs, from all ages, shapes and sizes. We will be outside at the grassy area at the end of the parking lot. PLAN AHEAD.... Please note, we do NOT do same day adoptions, if you are looking to adopt an adorable new family member and want to take home the same day, you need to fi ll out an adoption application now, on-line, ahead of the event, AND get pre-approved. More Info: Want to learn about Volunteer Opportunities – Benefi ting puppy dogs!! Come join us for our "Party with a Purpose" informational event. Enjoy fellowship, light refreshments, make new friends and learn about Clifford's Army Rescue (CARE). Come ask questions and learn what rescue is all about. We will share our passion to save lives, many of our stories, and also ways you can help CARE, if you so desire. There are many opportunities for most any and every one of all ages. We need fosters, and folks to help at our many fundraising events, pet food drives, and our monthly hikes with a CARE rescue dog, and so much more. We will have information for you on all of our upcoming events and ways to help CARE rescue. We will start around 5:30 pm and it's okay if you arrive after 5:30. The Town of Boiling Springs is updating its Land Use Plan and devel- oping a Park Master Plan. Provide input on what the town needs, what should change and what should stay the same, using the link below. This includes any area throughout the town. Be the voice the community needs as it grows toward the future. Nar-Anon Support Group: Meets 6:30 pm weekly on Tuesdays at the First Baptist Church, 120 N. Lafayette St., Shelby, NC. Nar-Anon is a support group for those affected by someone else's drug addiction. We meet in the class- room off Dale St. between Sumter & Campbell St. Park on the side of the church or in the alley. If you have ever wanted to get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of this beautiful house, then this is your chance! Tours are held on the First Friday of every month. Our next tour will be on Friday, July 7th, so mark your calendar now! Tour hours are 3 – 6 p.m. and the cost is $10 at the door.
