Wednesday LA Fire & Rescue (16) (5) (13) (23) 8:00 p.m. Viewers are allowed an in-depth, inside look at the frontline work of the Los Angeles County Fire Depart- ment in another fascinating new episode, following as one of the country's most impressive firefight- ing brigades handles emergencies throughout L.A. Thursday Generation Gap (6) (6) 8:00 p.m. Pairing teams of seniors and ju- niors, this new game show chal- lenges them to answer questions about pop culture from each oth- er's generations. It's a hilarious dis- parity that takes a trip from rotary phone to touch screens. Friday The Articulate Hour (20) (11) 10:00 p.m. Creatives and experts explore and make sense of big ideas. Kelly Ripa from "Generation Gap" This week's Best bets By Michelle Rose TV Media Kim's cameo: Kim Cattrall's newest series, "Glamorous," recently debuted on Netflix, but news from a different TV project had viewers and critics buzzing recently — mostly because none of us saw it coming. Variety got the scoop that Cattrall will indeed reprise her iconic "Sex and the City" role as publicist Samantha Jones in HBO's reboot "And Just Like That..." — something that previ- ously seemed unthinkable given Cattrall's public comments about her desire to step away from "Sex and the City," and the ensuing public fallout with "SATC" series lead/executive producer Sarah Jessica Parker. Both "Glamorous" and Season 2 of "And Just Like That..." launched on the same day (June 22), but Cattrall isn't pulling dou- ble duty: her appearance in "And Just Like That..." is billed as a "one time only" deal, and, reportedly, it only became reality after Casey Bloys, chairman and CEO of HBO and Max Content, approached Cattrall about a pos- sible cameo. A spokesperson for Max (for- merly HBO Max) confirmed the cameo to the New York Post, with sources describing it as a "hush-hush" arrangement that "left no paper trail to tip off show workers beforehand" (according to The Post). And Cattrall herself shared Variety's post on social media with the caption "Happy Pride." The actress has already filmed her one scene — reportedly it was shot on March 22 in New York City — which will be fea- tured in the Season 2 finale. Cattrall filmed the scene sepa- rately, meaning she didn't inter- act or speak with any of the other series stars or showrunner Michael Patrick King. Also nota- ble is the fact that "Sex and the City" costume designer Patricia Field returned to dress Cattrall for her brief "And Just Like That..." appearance as Samantha.
