Born in Cleveland County, on September 30, 1956, he was a son of the late Lawrence Junior Beatty and Thelma Irene Adams Beatty. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James "Jamie" Beatty. Survivors include his wife, Janie Pruett Beatty; three daughters, Janice Greer and husband, Scott of Shelby, Crystal Worley and hus- band, Kenneth of Belmont and Mandy Potts and hus- band, Jason of Aynor, SC; a brother, Alonzo Beatty of Casar; two sisters, Jean Roth of Gaffney, SC and Barbara Vick of Virginia; and ten grandchildren. The funeral service was held May 25, 2023 at Pisgah Baptist Church with the Rev. James Wedgeworth officiat- ing. The burial followed in the church cemetery.
