Born in Cleveland County, on September 30, 1956, he was a son of the late Lawrence Junior Beatty and Thelma Irene Adams Beatty. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James "Jamie" Beatty. Survivors include his wife, Janie Pruett Beatty; three daughters, Janice Greer and husband, Scott of Shelby, Crystal Worley and hus- band, Kenneth of Belmont and Mandy Potts and hus- band, Jason of Aynor, SC; a brother, Alonzo Beatty of Casar; two sisters, Jean Roth of Gaffney, SC and Barbara Vick of Virginia; and ten grandchildren. The funeral service was held May 25, 2023 at Pisgah Baptist Church with the Rev. James Wedgeworth officiat- ing. The burial followed in the church cemetery. A graveside service was held June 10, 2023 in Cleveland Memorial Park with the Rev. Karl Varn officiating. A Celebration of Life Service followed at Resurrection Lutheran Church. She was born July 17, 1934 in Gaston County to the late John Frank Conrad and the late Lessie Bell Conrad Wiggins. In addition to her par- ents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hurley Howard Ballard; sis- ter, Mildred Croft; stepfather, Walter J. She is survived by her hus- band, Gary Wayne Howell; son, Josh Howell and wife Kim of Lynden, Washington; a brother, Mike Beam and wife Patty of Lawndale; and seven grandchildren, The funeral service was held June 7, 2023, in the Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. Timothy Hendrick and Rev Mike McGee officiating.
