Military with their families get free summer admission Members of the military are in- vited to spend the summer with their families at The Schiele Mu- seum of Natural History. From May 20, Armed Forces Day, until September 4, Labor Day, vet- erans, active military, and their loved ones can enjoy free mu- seum admission. The Schiele is pleased to part- ner with Dignity Memorial to pro- vide this benefit to veterans. "Thanks to the support of our friends at Dignity Memorial, The Schiele is able to honor veterans and their families," said Dr. Ann Tippitt, Executive Director. "Vis- iting the museum is a great way to spend time together and create last- ing memories." This is the second year that Dignity is offering free visits for veterans during the summer months. In addition, The Schiele is one of nearly 2,000 museums across the United States participating as a Blue Star Museum. Through a collaboration with the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Depart- ment of Defense, and the City of Gas- tonia, active military and their families will also enjoy free museum admission this summer. Military members can bring up to 5 family members per visit and there is no limit on visits during the sum- mer months. Active military, veterans, and their families can come as often as they would like!
