She joins the grammar school faculty as a fourth-grade teacher. Megan Duncan, a native of Rutherford County, is a summa cum laude graduate of Limestone College. She joins the grammar school faculty as a fi rst-grade teacher. Christy Healy, a North Carolina native, joins the high school trivium faculty as a Latin I teacher. A summa cum laude graduate of Belmont Abbey College, Healy served as general editor of the campus literary magazine and vice president of the creative writing organization. Healy is a recipient of the college’s award for excellence in literary studies and is a member of the Association for the Promotion of the Study of Latin’s National Latin Honor Society. Megan Hess joins the science faculty as a grade seven teacher. A graduate of Oak- land University in Michigan, Hess is licensed to teach middle school science, high school science, middle school English, and high school English. Dr. Bertram Ross joins the science faculty as the high school honors and Advanced Placement chemistry teacher. A graduate of the University of the West Indies (Ja- maica) and Queen’s University (Canada), Dr. Ross received his doctorate from Ohio University. Dr. Ross has taught in Saint Kitts and Nevis, the Turks and Caicos Islands, and Virginia. A Fulbright Scholar, Dr. Ross has written articles for the International Journal of Science Education and other publications. Adrienne Smith joins the grammar school faculty as a fourth-grade teacher. A native of Georgia, Smith is a graduate of Gardner Webb University, where she played softball and was a member of the Academic All-Sports Team. Donna Trimble joins the grammar school staff as a grade six history and geography teacher. A summa cum laude graduate of Belmont Abbey College and a recipient of the school’s outstanding education student award, Trimble worked at Springmore Elementary School in Boiling Springs for the past fi ve years.
