Brainerd Dispatch • May 14 - 20, 2023 •19 "Till" (2022) "Till" will be available to stream Tuesday, May 9, on Prime Video. The 2022 film tells the very real story of Mamie Till-Mobley, following her relentless pursuit of justice in honor of her late son, Emmett Till, who was just 14 years old when he was lynched in 1955 dur- ing a trip to visit family in Mississippi. Though Mamie Till-Mobley sadly passed away in 2003, the impact and legacy of her battle remains, with the importance of her son's story resonating to this day. In this retelling of her "poignant journey of grief turned to action" (per MGM Studios), Danielle Deadwyler ("Station Eleven") portrays the Till-Mobley as she works to expose the rac- ism that prompted her son's murder, fighting to bring all those involved to justice. The film also focuses on her son, Emmett (portrayed by Jalyn Hall, "All American"), taking the time to show what he was like as a youth and allowing viewers a glimpse into the boy's all-too- short life. Winner of the Impact Award at the 2023 Afri- can-American Film Critics Association and Outstanding Screenplay at the 2023 Black Reel awards, "Till" was directed by Chinonye Chukwu ("Clemency," 2019). "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" – Complete Series All 163 episodes of "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" are available to stream now on Prime Video. Created by Nell Scovell ("Charmed") and Jonathan Schmock ("Ferris Bueller's Day Off," 1986), and based on the "Archie Comics" series of the same name, the show follows the adventures of young Sabrina Spellman (Melissa Joan Hart, "No Good Nick"), who, on her sixteenth birthday, discovers that she's a witch with magical abilities. As if being a teenager isn't hard enough, Sabrina then moves in with her aunts – Hilda (Caroline Rhea, "Sydney to the Max") and Zelda (Beth Broderick, "Love & Death") – who have been tasked with teaching the girl how to use her magic and hone her skills. The wacky Spellman family is joined by Salem Saberhagen (Nick Bakay, "Zookeeper," 2011), a witch- turned-black-cat with a black sense of humor and the will to take over the world. Earning a 94% on Rotten Tomatoes and multiple Primetime Emmy nominations, "Sabrina" remained a well-loved hit for all seven seasons. "The Mother" (2023) Never get between a mother and her kids, especially this one: Netflix's newest action thriller flick, "The Mother," premieres on the streamer Friday, May 12. Jennifer Lopez ("Shotgun Wedding," 2022) stars as the film's titular mother, a deadly assassin who gave up her daughter, Zoe (Lucy Paez, "The Exorcism of Carmen Farias," 2021), years before for her own protection. Now, with her daughter's life — and her own — in grave danger, she embarks on an action-packed, globe- spanning journey to keep her safe from a group of dan - gerous men from her old life. From director Niki Caro ("McFarland, USA," 2015), "The Mother" features a screenplay by Misha Green ("Lovecraft Country"), Andrea Berloff ("Straight Outta Compton," 2015) and Peter Craig ("Top Gun: Maverick," 2022). The film also stars Joesph Fiennes ("Shakespeare in Love," 1998), Paul Raci ("Sound of Metal," 2019), Gael Garcia Bernal ("Mozart in the Jungle") and Omari Hardwick ("Power"). "Queer Eye" - Season 7 The Fab 5 are back and ready to give more deserving, everyday Americans life-changing transformations when Season 7 of the heartfelt, 10-time Emmy-win - ning reality series, "Queer Eye," premieres on Netflix Friday, May 12.
