Left to cherish his memories are his daugh- ter, Amanda Sue Ledford of Ellenboro, two grandchil- dren, one brother, Randy Scott Ledford, mom, Pattie Ledford, both from Forest City, one sister Cindy Ledford Owens from Rutherfordton, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, friends, and neighbors. Wade Ledford Wade Ledford, age 64, of Spindale, passed away Friday, April 28, 2023. Wade was born May 8, 1958 in Rutherford County to the late Glen Ledford and Opal Green Ledford. He worked in maintenance for many years and was a mem- ber of Spindale Fellowship Holiness. In addition to his par- ents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Donald and Walt Ledford. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 36 years, Helen Ledford; son, Samuel Lee Ledford of Spindale and daughter, Marie Foster (Barry) of Mayo, SC; brothers, Cecil Ledford of Spindale and James Ledford of Rutherfordton and one granddaughter. A celebration of life will be held from 2-4pm Sunday, May 7 at Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church with Rev. Danny Ledford officiating. Corena Munsey Coffey Corena Munsey Coffey, age 88, of Forest City, passed away Friday, April 28, 2023. Corena was born June 4, 1934 in Rutherford County. She worked for Cone Mills for many years. Corena was presently attending Chase Baptist Church and was a mem- ber of Fair View Missionary Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Coffey; grandson, Justin Edward Coffey; sister, Beatrice Melton and brothers, Garnett, Elbert, C.C., Earl and Buster Munsey. Those left to cherish her memory include her daugh- ter, Vickey Doggett (Kurt) of Forest City; sons, Jerry Coffey of Forest City, Terry Coffey (Phyllis) of Ellenboro, Stanley Coffey of Forest City; sister, Sara Lowery of Cliffside; brother, Paul Munsey (Terry) of Forest City; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The funeral was held May 2 at Chase Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Butler and Rev. Tripp Biggerstaff officiating. Edna Mae Shrewsbury Edna Mae Shrewsbury, age 64, of Forest City, passed away Friday, April 28, 2023. Edna was born September 20, 1958 in Wyoming County, WV to the late Clyde Denver Shrewsbury and Francis Opal Hunter Shrewsbury. She worked at Southern Convenience Store and Petroleum World Service Station and also worked in plastics manufacturing. In addition to her par- ents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cathryn Lynn Shrewsbury; granddaughter, Chrissy Moore; brothers, John Hunter and Clyde Douglas Shrewsbury; stepsons, Bryan Rudy Sizemore, Peter Byron Sizemore and step- daughter, Angela Mitchell. Survivors include her best friend and soulmate, John "Cowboy" Nipper; sons, David Franklin Shrewsbury of SC and Roy Douglas Shrewsbury (Amber) of Gainesville, MO; daughter, Dorothy Sizemore Ravencliff of WV; sister, Opal Van Dyke (Jeffrey) of Forest City and brother, Patrick Shrewsbury (Lisa) of Easley, SC, eleven grand- children, three great-grand- children and several nieces and nephews. William Bruce Hodge William Bruce Hodge, age 65, of Caroleen, passed away, Saturday, April 29, 2023. Bruce was born October 17, 1957 in Rutherford County to William Ray Hodge of Forest City and the late Betty Campbell Ervin. Bruce was a veteran of the US Army. He was a truck driver for many years and also worked as a mechan- ic. Bruce attended Caroleen Baptist Church. In addition to his moth- er, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Hodge; sisters, Darlene Hodge, Donna Hodge and stepbrother, Ken Ervin. Besides his father, those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 20 years, Martha Hodge; children, Brenda, Nicole, Brandon, Buffy and Diane; a number of grandchildren; brothers, Billy Hodge of Shallotte, Toney Ervin of Shelby, Jerry Ervin of FL, Timmy Ervin of FL and Ronnie Ervin of Shelby; sisters, Debbie Hodge (Ricky Brooks) of Ellenboro, Wanda Hodge of Union Mills, Cindy Evans of Spindale, Beverly Ervin of FL and Gloria Holden of FL. Tracey Alanda James Tracey Alanda James, age 54 of Mooresboro died Wednesday, April 26, 2023. He was born August 16, 1968, in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Herbert Newton James, Sr, and Dorothy Underwood James. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, a graduate of Chase High School, and worked as a long-distance truck driver. In addition to his par- ents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Belinda James Guillermo. Survivors include his wife, April Henry James, his daughter, Megan Wilhoit and fiancée, Chad Gordon of Forest City, his sons, Zeke Kendall and Joey Kendall of Mooresboro, his brother, Herbert James, Jr. and wife Sandra of Shelby, brother- in-law, Erlindo Guillermo of Forest City, mother and father-in-law, Tina and Gary Henry of Delaware, OH, and five grandchildren. The funeral was held May 1 in The Padgett and King Chapel with Rev. Chris Fox officiating. An online guest reg- istry is available at www. padgettking.com Clarence Baxter Jolley Clarence Baxter Jolley, age 74 of Cliffside, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, April 27, 2023. He was born November 27, 1948 in Cleveland County, NC to the late George Oren Jolley and the late Margaret Hamrick Jolley. Baxter was a U.S. Army veteran and a mem- ber of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Mooresboro. He had worked at Hoechst Fiber in Shelby for five years, Cone Mills weave plant in Cliffside, for more than 25 years and lastly for the town of Boiling Spring for five years. Baxter is survived by his wife Louise Jones Jolley, daughters Anne Jolley Espinoza and Amy Jolley Bracebridge and husband Charlie, six grandchildren, one great grandson. The funeral was held April 30 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Hamrick officiating. Military honors were accord- ed by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. Brenda Sue Boiter Brenda Sue Boiter, age 77 of Forest City died Sunday, April 2, 2023. Brenda was born June 24, 1945 in Rutherford County and was a daugh- ter of the late Sam Thomas Boiter and Hester Cochran Boiter. Brenda graduated from East Rutherford High School and was a Baptist. She was a former volunteer with the Girl Scouts of America and the Community Pet Center. In addition to her par- ents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Jo Harmon. Survivors include two nieces, one nephew, also great-nieces and several cousins. A memorial service will be held at 2pm Friday, May 5, 2023 in The Padgett and King Chapel with Rev. Tonya Garrison officiat- ing. The family will receive friends following the service in the chapel. He was born October 6, 1978 in Bluefield, WV. He attended Bluefield High School and worked in the roofing business with Finley Roofing since he was 17. Survivors include his mother, JoAnn Miller and husband Alvin, his dad, Bernard Scott and wife Brenda of Forest City, NC; one brother, Timothy Scott of Montgomery, WV; two nieces, one nephew. Memorial services were held April 24 at Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Yates officiating.
