Sponsored by Dreaming Stone Arts and Ecology Center (DSAEC), Rutherfordton, the Dance of Hope will perform in downtown Rutherfordton on Friday, May 5 at 6:30pm and again at 8pm during the town's Food Art and Brew event at the Main Street Park. Under the mentorship of DSAEC's Chinobay, Dance of Hope has become Africa's leading youth-based arts education program. Their visit here and other areas of the country is in conjunction with DSAEC's artist residency program. Everyone is invited to attend the free performances on Friday night. A dance workshop led by the group will be held at DSAEC Saturday. Tevyn East, executive director of DSAEC told the Grahamtown Center audience, "This is the right place to have a welcome event. This is what we all enjoy."
