New homes with ADUs now selling in San Jose's Cambrian neighborhood also listed as No. 3 in the state of California. Overall, ranked against master plans all over the country, River Islands was in the Top 30. Why does River Islands receive this ac- colade, year after year? River Islands Develop- ment President Susan Dell'Osso attributes the community's success to the "amazing sense of community" created by the master plan itself, its award-winning home- builders and the residents who have chosen to put down roots in Lathrop. "River Islands has a terrific array of features already in place and within the boundaries of the mas- ter plan, including 13 lakes, a dozen parks and playing fields, a riverfront trail, and a highly-regarded charter school system." Dell'Osso continues, "The River Islands we see today represents only the first phase of its development. We have plans for more lakes, more parks, some impressive sports facili- ties, two town centers, a business park and a transit center to accom- modate the future Val- ley Link connection to Pleasanton BART, now in the planning." River Islands is being built on an ap- proximately 5,000-acre site, adjacent to the San Joaquin River. Cur- rently, there are more than a dozen new-home communities under con- struction, presented by some of the state's top homebuilders. Buyers can choose from a selection of sin- gle-story and two-story plans in neighborhoods that are built close to parks, lakes, trails or schools. A dozen neigh- borhoods are currently being offered, each with their own architectural character. Homes range in size from a three- bedroom plan to designs with up to seven bed- rooms. Flexible floor plans allow people to select homes that best suit their lifestyles, whether the need is for office space, home gyms or retreats. Some of the homes are built around multigenerational suites. All of the homes include smart-home technology for energy conservation, privacy and convenience. Prices range from the mid- $600,000s to over $1 million. A complete overview of neighborhoods, home designs and pricing is available at the community website, riverislands.com. The Welcome Center is open daily from noon to 5 p.m. at 1401 River Islands Parkway in Lathrop. Designed and built by Robson Homes, a San Jose-based builder with nearly 35 years of homebuilding heritage in Silicon Valley, Rose- wood at Camden Park is an enclave of new homes tucked away off of Union Avenue on Cully Place, a private street that runs adjacent to Camden Park. According to the builder, it's a combina- tion of spacious floor plans, beautiful archi- tecture and high-quality features and finishes that set their homes apart. "Most of our buyers have been in the market for quite some time, and they are truly weighing all of their options before they purchase," remarks Charles Baldwin, direc- tor of sales and market- ing for Robson Homes. "Ultimately, they choose Rosewood because we offer the highest quality, most beautiful homes in the area, and they love the feel of this entirely new neighborhood." Two floor plans, with numerous architectural distinctions and lot specific customizations, are currently for sale at Rosewood. All homes have four bedrooms and four-and-a-half bath- rooms, and all feature a full bedroom suite on the first floor. The 2,900-square-foot Ascot is a traditional two-story home with a ground- floor bedroom suite and upstairs den. Prices start at $2,850,000. With up to 3,785 square feet, The Claremont offers expansive living with a first-floor study and second-story den, plus a detached two-car garage with a one-bedroom, one-bathroom accessory dwelling unit (ADU) above. Content provided by Robson Homes BY METRO Mother's Day is an opportunity to show moms how much they're loved and appre- ciated. Though many moms may insist they don't want anything beyond spending the day with their children, gifts are a big part of Mother's Day. No two moms are the same, and though standards such as flowers and greeting cards will always have a place on Mother's Day, the following are some gift ideas that can put smiles on the faces of moms from all walks of life. Bookworm There's no end to the gift options for mothers who love to curl up with a good book. Of course, some new books may de- light Mom, but gifts that can improve the reading experience also merit consideration. For example, an er- gonomic backrest read- ing pillow can make bedtime reading ses- sions more comfortable and ensure Mom's neck and back get ample support as she reads the latest page-turner. A nightstand bookholder also can be ideal for moms who can't seem to keep track of their bookmarks. Fitness enthusiast Some moms simply love to get in a good workout. Shoppers whose mothers or wives love to break a sweat might want to look into home gym equipment, as many fitness enthu- siasts transformed part of their homes into ex- ercise areas during the pandemic. If that sounds like the mom on your shopping list, then a suspension training system won't take up much room but can provide an intense, full-body workout. A new yoga mat, some wireless Bluetooth head- phones or a compression stretching mat are some additional gifts that might make exercise- loving moms smile this Mother's Day. Traveler Moms whose children still live under the same roof may not have much opportunity to travel, but empty nesters and grandmothers might. For such moms, a fold- able, hanging travel bag can make it easy and convenient for Mom to carry all of her toiletries and access them without taking up what's often minimal hotel-room counter space. For moms who want to document their excur- sions, a leather travel journal encourages them to note their experiences and gives them some- thing they can revisit for years to come. Of course, some new luggage can make the perfect gift for newly retired moms who can't wait to start visit- ing places on their travel bucket lists. Businesswoman Millions of moms manage to juggle the obligations of family life with a challenging career. Mother's Day can be a great time to recog- nize that balancing act. A self-heating cof- fee mug can ensure Mom's morning cup o' joe doesn't go cold as she traverses her way through a hectic morn- ing routine. Another great gift is a charging mouse pad that can charge all of Mom's de- vices even while she's working. If you want to help Mom remain calm as she navigates her way through a day filled with personal and profes- sional obligations, an essential oils diffuser can create a sense of relax- ation on the most hectic of days. No two moms are the same. Fortunately, great gifts can be found for moms from all walks of life this Mother's Day.
