New improvements have been made at the station including new roll-up doors, air quality scrubbers in the apparatus bays, new lockers, a new SCBA air compressor, a revised offi ce layout, new plumbing fi xtures, appliances, and HVAC. Other upgrades at the station can be seen in new paint colors, fl ooring, kitchen layout, and safety improvements. The dedication will be at 4pm. Dedication at Rutherfordton Ðire station; construction ongoing for station #2 Article Provided By: Jean Gordon As the new improvements are announced, construction continues on the Rutherfordton Fire & Rescue Station #2 as the steel structure has been erected and the contractors are working to weatherproof the building before interior work begins. The station is located at 1701 Baber Road in the Shiloh community. It will serve the Rural Fire District of the Department as well as the Town of Rutherfordton. The Station will house the new mini pumper that is on the way and a tanker in the current fl eet of the department. It is anticipated that the station will open later this year and plans are underway to staff the station with one fi refi ghter/EMT at all times.
