Initially an effort was made to convert the East
Practice field to natural grass. But after reviewing
the RootZone 3D3 Blend, the Huskies chose to switch
to AstroTurf for their practice field. This field's
performance and low maintenance set the stage for
future installations on the University of Washington's
campus.
