The Daily Star, Oneonta, N.Y., Friday, April 14, 2023 20 By Caroline Collacutt TV Media Millennial Matchmaker: "Sima Aunty" will be gracing our screens once again in Sea- son 3 of the Emmy-nominated series "Indian Matchmaking," premiering Friday, April 21, on Netflix. Known as "Mumbai's Matchmaker," Sima Taparia returns with a slate of eight all-new episodes, taking us from New York to New Delhi and across the diaspora as she assists her South Asian clients in their search for an arranged marriage. Taparia offers an inside look at the modernization of the custom, from a prospective couple's first meeting to, hope- fully, their wedding day. She guides lovelorn millennials through an updated, 21st-cen- tury version of the process, uti- lizing (according to Netflix) "decades of experience, tradi- tional methods and Aparna- proof intuition," along with the internet (perhaps the big- gest game-changer of all), to help hopefuls like (past clients) Viral Joshi and Aparna Shewakramani find their per- fect match. In past seasons, Taparia has been successful in forming a multitude of pairings, but as of yet, there have been no "Indi- an Matchmaker" weddings. Long-term relationships were forged and even some propos- als made, but viewers have yet to see any of Sima Aunty's cli- ents say their "I do's" — at least, not on screen. Fans may be hoping to see a wedding in Season 3, but this year may prove to be Sima Aunty's biggest challenge yet. In an interview with E! News, Taparia shared: "Fans will see new clients — and new de- mands. Season 3 has some of my most challenging clients to date, but also some special matches and maybe even a 'happily ever after' or two." She also teased that Season 3 will end on an "optimistic note" and features at least one marriage proposal. Season 3 of "Indian Match- making" is sure to stir things up, with more relationships, drama and awkward first dates coming Friday, April 21, to Net- flix. realtalk Sima Aunty in "Indian Matchmaking" B/The Pine Shop 6 x 7.5 ORECK VACUUM SALES & SERVICE BAGS & BELTS FOR OTHER BRANDS OLD VILLAGE COLONIAL PAINTS Mon. - Fri. 9-5:30, Sat. 9-5 Upholstered, Finished, Unfinished Real Wood Furniture • Finishings Available 5382 St. Hwy. 7 • Oneonta • (607) 432-1124 thepineshoponeonta.com Wardrobes 20% Off QUALITY HOME FURNISHING, UPHOLSTERED, UNFINISHED Storage Chest 20% Off Amish Made Dining Room Sets
