Monica Lopez is an alumna of
Northeastern Illinois Univer-
sity, a human resources and
organizational development
consultant to business part-
ners, a career coach, entrepre-
neur, and speaker.
At Northwestern Mutual,
Lopez is leading the firm's ta-
lent and diversity and inclu-
sion talent initiatives through
her various partnerships, wor-
king to increase Latino and
female representation in the
insurance and wealth mana-
gement industry.
With more than 15 years'
experience in human resour-
ces and organizational deve-
lopment in industries such as
healthcare, manufacturing, ar-
chitecture, banking, insuran-
ce, real estate, tech, and higher
education, Lopez has partne-
red with universities and bu-
sinesses across the United Sta-
tes, supporting their initiatives
in diversity, equity and inclu-
sion, in recruitment, and in
organizational development.
Lopez has served as a na-
tional ambassador and stra-
tegic partnership chair on
the board of directors for the
Association of Latino Profes-
sionals for America. Lopez's
contribution has helped lead
a mission focused on elevating
and supporting Latinx student
and professional members
through corporate partner-
ships with companies in va-
rious industries such as EY,
PWC, Deloitte, Google, Allsta-
te, AbbVie, Wintrust Bank and
many more.
She actively serves as a
councilwoman for Women
Employed, where she spends
her time advocating for chan-
ges in national policy that lead
to greater equity in education
and the workplace for women
of color.
In her most recent role as a
council member for Northeas-
tern Illinois University''s Colle-
ge of Business and technology
executive council, she has ser-
ved as an advisor to the dean
and has been a lead contribu-
tor to the council, students,
and community.
Her passion for diversi-
ty, equity, and inclusion and
elevating women in all com-
munities has led her to being
selected to be the executive
producer for Latino Thought
Makers, a series produced
with Hollywood filmmaker
Rick Najera.
