As a part of this pro- cess, an opportunity is provided to citizens of North Carolina for public feedback via the CALEA Portal: https://cimrs2.calea. org/889 The purpose of this public portal is to receive comments regarding our com- pliance with CALEA standards, engage- ment in the service community, delivery of public safety services, and overall candidacy for accreditation sta- tus. These comments can be in the form of commendations or concerns. The overall intent of the accredita- tion process is to pro- vide our agency with information to support continuous improve- ment, as well as foster our pursuit of profes- sional excellence. It is important to know that CALEA is not an investiga- tory body and sub- sequently, the public portal should not be used to submit in- formation for such purposes. Addition- ally, there will be no response other than acknowledgement to submissions; how- ever, the information will be considered in context to its rel- evancy to compliance with standards and the tenets of CALEA® Ac- creditation.
