Born in Cleveland County on December 24, 1961, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth Vaughn Weaver and Jewel Lee Brackett Weaver Ledbetter. In addition to her par- ents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Harril Champion, Jr. and one granddaughter. Survivors include two daughters, Christena Champion and hus- band, Shane and Amanda Champion and Tim all of Shelby; brother, Michael Weaver and wife Lynn of Grover; and four grandchil- dren; three great grandchil- dren. The funeral service was held on March 16, 2023 at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tripp Biggerstaff officiat- ing. The burial followed in the Flint Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Born in Cleveland County on April 14, 1940, Mr. Bowen was the son of the late Joseph Dewey and Rehama Clary Bowen. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Bowen and Pinkney Bowen, and one brother-in-law, Harold Eaker. He is survived by his wife; Delores McSwain Bowen of the home; one daughter, Karen Capps and husband, Charles; one son, Darrell Bowen all of Shelby; one brother, Paul Bowen and wife, Barbara of Shelby; one sister, Patricia Eaker of Shelby; as well, two sisters- in-laws, Linda Bowen of Shelby, and Jean Bowen of Gaffney; and four grandchil- dren and three great grand- children. A Funeral service was held March 17, 2023, at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, offici- ated by Rev. Derek Greene. Burial followed in the church cemetery. She is survived by her hus- band, Dennis Charles Pail Sr., of the home; her children, Terry Westphalen (David) of Shelby, NC, and Dennis Pail Jr. of Douglasville, GA; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, John "Mickey" Bird (Beth) of Somers Point, NJ, and Robert Bird of EHT, NJ; and three sisters, Ruth Steelman of Oceanview, NJ, Delores McClain of EHT, NJ, and Milly Kleva (Michael) of Galloway, NJ. Born April 12, 1947, in Atlantic County, NJ, Josephine was the daughter of the late Alan Bird and Josephine Clark Bird and was preceded in death by four brothers, George Bird Sr., Ronald Bird, Alan Bird, and Charles Bird, and two sisters, Margaret "Peggy" Flash and Joan Wilson.
