Angels are created beings whose main role is to serve the purposes of God and to worship His majesty. They have been present throughout the history of mankind and will play a major part during the end times. The Bible tells us to be careful how we treat strangers because they could be angels in disguise. In a broader sense we could defi ne an angel as a messenger of God. Even though humans can never actually become angels, it is possible for us to fulfi ll the task of being an ambassador of God. Our lives have been touched many times by those we could deem as angels. These are people who were directed by God to fulfi ll a certain purpose in our life. Our lives have been enriched by individuals who have obeyed the promptings of God. These "messengers of God" are also sent to us to provide help in times of crisis. God knows what we need at any given moment of our life. In his perfect timing, he moves the heart of a surrendered individual to be his heavenly messenger. It could be in the form of a random act of kindness, a word of encouragement or a reassuring presence. As we begin each new day, let us be aware of the opportunities around us to be the messenger of God in someone's life. Secondly, we should be ready to acknowledge and give thanks for the angels who God sends in our time of need. Who are the angels of God in your life?
