Battle- ground Ave., in Kings Mountain. Speaker Tim Moore will be making a presentation about the playground that day and the public is encouraged to attend. North Carolina's Year of the Trail is in full swing, as the state celebrates throughout 2023 as des- ignated by NC House Bill 554 during its 2021 ses- sion and led by the Great Trails State Coalition, a group of over 50 organiza- tions working to build more opportunities for hiking, biking, walking, running, paddling, and horseback riding across the state through increased aware- ness, legislative action, education, and engage- ment. Prior to the ribbon cut- ting, the Gateway Trail will also sponsor a 5K & 10 Mile Run on Saturday, March 25. Strap on your favorite running shoes and head to the trail to join in all the fun!
