10 ENTERTAINMENT EXTRA By Raye Smith TV Media WHAT'S NEW ON NETFLIX "The Night Agent" - Season 1 Author Matthew Quirk's political thriller "The Night Agent" takes on new life with its very own Netflix series, which premieres Thursday, March 23, on the streaming plat- form. The series' 10-episode debut season stars Gabriel Basso ("Super 8," 2011) as Peter Sutherland, a very low-level FBI agent working in the basement of the White House. His life and his nights are dull as he mans a phone that never rings — until one day it does. Suddenly, Peter finds himself thrust into a dangerous, fast-moving conspiracy that leads all the way to the Oval Office. Writ- ten for television by Corey Deshon ("Daughter," 2022), the series is directed by Seth Gordon ("The Lost City," 2022). "The Night Agent" also stars Luciane Buchanan ("The New Legends of Monkey"), Hong Chau ("The Whale," 2022), D.B. WHAT'S NEW ON HULU "Up Here" - Season 1 For TV lovers with "Zoey's Ex- traordinary Playlist" and "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend"-shaped holes in their lives, this one's for you: Hulu's new musical romantic comedy series, "Up Here," premieres Friday, March 24. Set in New York City in 1999, the series follows the extraordinary story of one ordinary couple. As they come together and fall in love, they soon discover that their great- est obstacle to finding happiness together might just be themselves. Through it all, they navigate the treacherous landscapes of their own minds as they work to overcome their memories, obsessions, fears, fantasies and histories for the sake of their relationship. WHAT'S NEW ON PRIME VIDEO "Reggie" (2023) The new, original sports documen- tary "Reggie," premiering Friday, March 24, on Prime Video, takes an intimate and revealing look at the career and legacy of Major League Baseball Hall of Famer and activist Reggie Jackson. A beloved New York icon and one of baseball's most influential superstars, "Reggie" pro- vides a definitive, firsthand account of the five-time World Series cham- pion's trailblazing fight for "dignity, respect and a seat at the table" as a Black athlete (per Prime Video). As the film looks at Jackson's life, from the beginning of his career in Birmingham, Alabama, at the height of the civil rights movement to his move to Oakland, California, during the rise of the Black Panther Party, to landing in New York City as the high- est-paid player in baseball, Jackson sits down with fellow athletic legends Julius "Dr. J" Erving, Hank Aaron, Derek Jeter and more to discuss their own experiences, how far sports and society have really come, and the leagues they want to leave behind for future generations. Directed by documentary filmmaker Alex Stapleton ("Pride"), "Reggie" comes from BRON Studios, Delirio Films and Red Crown Productions, in association with Creative Wealth Media. WHAT'S NEW ON DISNEY+ "Secrets of Sulphur Springs - Season 3 The mystery continues with the Season 3 premiere of the live-action family adventure drama "Secrets of Sulphur Springs," coming to Disney+ Saturday, March 25. In its very first season, the series dove into the mys- tery of The Tremont, an old hotel be- ing restored to its former glory by the Campbell family, who moved from Chicago to the small town of Sulphur Springs, Louisiana. While father Ben Campbell (Josh Braaten, "American Horror Story") came in with high hopes for the old hotel property, his son, Griffin (Preston Oliver, "This Is Us"), learns that his new house may be haunted by the spirit of a young girl named Savannah (Elle Graham, "Swamp Thing"), who disappeared without a trace several decades prior. Befriending the curious and eager Harper (Kyliegh Curran, "Doctor Sleep," 2019) in his class, Griffin and his new bud set out to solve the mys- tery of the missing girl, the haunted manor and the time-bending portal found on The Tremont's property. Picking back up, Season 3 finds Griffin, Harper and their friends grappling with new time-bending trials as a new ghost checks into the hotel intent on ruining their lives. WHAT'S NEW ON HBO MAX "All the Beauty and the Blood- shed" (2022) Catch the Academy Award-nomi- nated documentary "All the Beauty and the Bloodshed" when it makes its streaming premiere on HBO MAX Sunday, March 19. Through her slideshows, intimate interviews, groundbreaking photography, archi- val family snapshots and rare foot- age, this epic, emotional film tells the story of internationally renowned artist, photographer and activist Nan Goldin, known for exploring LGBTQ+ subcultures, moments of intimacy, the HIV/AIDS crisis, and the opioid epidemic in her work. While providing insights into Goldin's life and work, "All the Beauty and the Bloodshed" chronicles her personal fight to hold the Sackler family — a pharmaceutical dynasty — account- able for the role they played in the opioid overdose crisis. Directed by produced by Oscar-winning film- maker Laura Poitras ("Citizenfour," 2015), the film is also produced by Goldin herself, as well as Howard Gertler ("Crip Camp," 2020), Yoni Golijov ("Risk," 2016) and John S. Lyons ("The Young Pope"). "All the Beauty and the Bloodshed" was awarded the Golden Lion at the 2022 Venice International Film Festi- val, the event's highest honor.
