SATURDAY, MAY 6 DEADLINE: THURSDAY, APRIL 27, 2023 Line Ad up to 30 words (includes bold heading) for only $ 10 00 Any additional words 10¢ each Dear Citizens of Pike County, We are writing on behalf of Pike Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), a non-profit, (501c3) organization that works for the health and welfare of stray dogs and cats in our county. With this letter we hope to convince you to make a donation to our organization and join those who already help us in that work. But first, let me introduce you to our organization. We are a small group of volunteer board members that work to meet the basic needs and provide medical assistance available to those in our care. We provide them with food, shelter, and loving attention, and see to their medical needs as necessary. It is through the generous donations of organizations and individuals that we are able to continue in our endeavor to provide these innocent animals a chance to be adopted and find a "forever home." Like shelters all over the country, PAWS has searched for innovative ways to survive during these difficult economic times. Rising operational costs, increasing cost of veterinarian care, as well as cost of supplies required to care for animals is a challenge PAWS now faces. It costs an average of $5000 each month to operate PAWS. For these and other reasons, PAWS is seeking donations to continue our very important mission. PAWS receives 95% of our budget from the support of Pike County businesses and individuals. If 200 people in a county of roughly 13,000 gave $30.00 per month our operating cost would be covered. Let's pull together as a community and continue the vision that began 30 years ago. CAN YOU IMAGINE OUR COUNTY WITHOUT PAWS? You can address donations to P.O. Box 63, Petersburg, IN 47567, contact any of the board members listed below, or visit the shelter. ank you in advance for you consideration to help us fulfill the mission of saving lost and abandoned animals.
