Monuments of Distinction 704-481-1198 www.riverhillmonuments.com Family Owned & Operated Since 1957 ©Community First Media Community First Media Have you ever seen faith? The writer of Hebrews penned, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." In other words, we may not be able to see faith, but we can witness the power of it. For example, Noah's faith was revealed by building an ark in the middle of the desert. Abraham's faith was displayed when he obeyed God and took Isaac to Mt. Moriah to offer him as a sacrifi ce. The evidence of someone's faith in God is found in their actions and how they live their life. James wrote that faith without works is dead. If we see someone who is struggling and we refuse to help, then our God based faith is non-existent. Every day we have opportunities to prove our faith to those around us. Genuine faith in God, will compel us to reach out to the needy and to those who are hurting. How can we say we have faith and yet ignore the troubles of a fellow human? Faith is also the key to unlocking the grace of God. As we turn to him in our time of need, he will enable us to make it through hard times. Trusting God in the midst of tragic circumstances reveals the reality of our faith. Anyone can say they have faith on sunny days, but when the storms of life come, that is when the substance of our faith is tested. True faith will inspire us to endure life's most diffi cult situations. That indeed is the power of faith.
