10 ENTERTAINMENT EXTRA By Raye Smith TV Media WHAT'S NEW ON DISNEY+ "The Madalorian" - Season 3 The force is strong on Disney+ once again, as the long-awaited third sea- son of "The Mandalorian" premieres Wednesday, March 1. Episodes are set to air weekly on the stream- ing platform. The journeys of the Mandalorian through the Star Wars galaxy continue in this new season, with the bounty hunter, Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal, "The Last of Us"), reunited with Grogu (affectionately known by the internet as "Baby Yoda"). As the pair cross paths with old allies and make new enemies on their journey, the New Republic struggles to lead the galaxy away from its dark history. With the writing team led once again by series creator Jon Favreau ("Chef," 2014), "The Mandalorian's" eight-episode third season is directed by Rick Famuyiwa ("Dope," 2015), Rachel Morrison ("Black Panther," 2018), Lee Isaac Chung ("Minari," 2020), Carl Weath- ers ("Rocky," 1976), Peter Ramsey ("Spider-Man: Into the Spider- Verse," 2018) and Bryce Dallas How- ard ("Jurassic World," 2015). WHAT'S NEW ON NETFLIX "Cheat" - Season 1 Fake it till you make it with the brand-new British game show, "Cheat," when it makes its debut Wednesday, March 1, on Netflix. Liars and trivia masters are on equal footing in this series, as contestants use everything in their arsenal to take home a hefty cash prize. The stakes are high, as four players put their knowledge to the test across three rounds of competition. It may pay to know the answers, but for those who don't, it pays to cheat — as long as they don't get caught. Hosted by Danny Dyer ("EastEnders") and Ellie Taylor ("Ted Lasso"), "Cheat" is based on an original idea by Giles Boden and developed for television by Boden, Laura Gibson and Charlie Bennett, all of whom are writers on "Alan Carr's Epic Gameshow." The series comes from Talkback productions. "Next in Fashion" - Season 2 Keep ahead of the trends with the hit Netflix series "Next in Fash- ion" when it premieres its second season Friday, March 3. British designer and "Queer Eye" star Tan France returns to host once again, this time with supermodel Gigi Hadid by his side. Across 10 new episodes, Tan and Gigi guide 12 incredibly talented design- ers through some tough fashion challenges, as they prove their design chops and compete for the opportunity to showcase their boldest looks on a global stage — and the chance to walk away with $200,000. Coming in with brands of their own already established, the competition is tight as they all look to bring their brands further into the public eye. The series comes from executive produc- ers Robin Ashbrook and Yasmin Shackleton (both of "MasterChef USA") and co-executive producer Adam Cooper ("So You Think You Can Dance"). "Love at First Kiss" (2023) Fall in love with the future with the release of the new Spanish rom-com "Love at First Kiss," when it premieres Friday, March 3, on Netflix. At 16 years old, Javier (Álvaro Cervantes, "Hanna," 2011) kissed a girl for the first time and learned that with just one kiss, he can see his entire future with someone. Growing up being able to see the inevitable demise of his own relationships, Javier is jaded and has never been in a lasting relationship, always making sure to end them before things start to go wrong. However, everything changes the night he kisses Lucía (Silvia Alonso, "Mirage," 2018) and sees them happy, married and with children. He sees his happy ending, but there's one important thing standing in his way: Lucía is his best friend's girlfriend. Directed by Alauda Ruiz de Azúa ("Lullaby," 2022), "Love at First Kiss is written by "Reyes de la noche's" Cristóbal Garrido and Adolfo Valor. Gorka Otxoa ("A Private Affair"), Pilar Cas- tro ("Julieta," 2016), Susana Abaitua ("Compulsión," 2017), Elisabeth Larena ("Intimacy"), Ninton Sánchez ("The Rodriguez and the Beyond," 2019), Paula Munoz ("Caronte") and Fabia Castro ("Abracadabra," 2017) also star. WHAT'S NEW ON PARAMOUNT+ "True Lies" - Season 1 The brand-new CBS series "True Lies" makes its premiere on network television and the Paramount+ streamer Wednesday, March 1. Inspired by James Cameron's ("Ava- tar," 2009) hit action-comedy film of the same name, it follows Harry (Steve Howey, "Shameless") and Helen (Ginger Gonzaga, "I'm Dy- ing Up Here"), a seemingly-normal couple working as a computer consultant and a language professor. Until, one day, Helen discovers that her husband is actually a first-class international spy for U.S. intelligence agency Omega Sector. With the secret out, Omega recruits Helen to work with Harry and his team of operatives, as the couple embarks on top-secret missions around the world — all while keeping their real careers a secret from their teen- age children. Based on the original story by Didier Kaminka, Simon Michael and Claude Zidi (all of "True Lies," 1994), the series is written by Matt Nix ("Burn Notice") and Marc Guggenheim ("Arrow") and directed by Anthony Hemingway ("American Crime Story"), Jay Karas ("Acapulco") and McG ("Charlie's Angels," 2000). The series cast is rounded out by Erica Hernandez ("Bridge and Tunnel"), Omar Benson Miller ("Ballers"), Mike O'Gorman ("Vice Principals"), Annabella Didion ("Beast Beast," 2020) and Lucas Jaye ("Driveways," 2019).
