You have heard that there is no such thing a "self-made" person. It is the truth that behind every great achiever is a group of people or individuals we could refer to as "the others." The list would go on and on, but the "others" would include parents, grandparents, teachers, mentors, co-workers, assistants and many more. These are the unsung heroes behind the heroes. The people who offered support, encouragement and instruction to those who accomplished much. There would have been no Wright Brothers without the aviation pioneer, Octave Chanute. We would have never had Mickey Mouse and Walt Disney's success without the animation skills of Ub Iwerks. There was a time that the Apostle Paul needed Barnabas' encouragement. These people were willing to lend their knowledge and validation to those who would go on to notoriety. They fi lled their role well. The lesson to be learned is that good things can be accomplished when we aren't so concerned about who gets the credit. There is much admiration for those who faithfully perform their divinely appointed task behind the scenes. The others may never be publicly mentioned, but through their unselfi sh contributions they have made a difference in the lives of many. I am convinced that we will never know the number of people we have helped along the way as we carry out our role of being "the others."
