Thursday, February 16-February 22, 2023 www.rutherfordweekly.com 828-248-1408 Rutherford Weekly - Page 3 Gardner-Webb University and the Town of Boiling Springs are hosting fi ve bands at Webbstock '23 on Saturday, April 22, from 1 to 10pm. Main Street will be closed to traffi c during the festival. In addition to live music, the event features a kids zone on the lawn in front of GWU's Noel Hall, local artisans, street vendors, and performances by local groups. The best news—there's no cost to attend. "A great college town should have a highly- anticipated signature event each year, and we're delighted to renew Webbstock for a spectacular second year of fun," shared GWU President Dr. William Downs. "Lively music and delicious food have a way of bringing people together, and this year's Webbstock promises to draw patrons from our campus, our local community, our county and beyond. Bring a chair, some dancing shoes, and a big appetite." The community will enjoy a variety of musical talent on the stage set up near the intersection of Main Street and College Avenue. The bands will play a variety, featuring alt-rock, pop and Americana, country and '80s icons. Musical guests are: • 1pm: 9TY6ISH (ninety-six- ish) is an alt-rock/pop/indie band from North Carolina. •2:30pm: Rutherford County Line, the "biggest little band in the Carolinas," is one of the most in demand bands, opening for such national acts as Doug Stone and Aaron Tippin. •4pm: The Phoebes Band– A fast-rising force, performing the perfect mix of Rock & Blues with soulful vocals, screaming guitars, and a driving rhythm section. •5:30pm: Cassette Rewind– Born in the '80s and raised on radio, Cassette Rewind is the ultimate authentic '80s experience with dynamic performances of Prince, George Michael, Journey, Whitney Houston and other '80s pop icons. •7pm: Chatham County Line– A staple of the N.C. music scene for over two decades, Chatham County Line embraces the heart- worn songwriting and rough- hewn voice of leader Dave Wilson. The national touring Americana band has graced stages across the U.S., Europe, Scandinavia, Ireland and the U.K. Boiling Springs Town Manager Justin Longino said the town is ready to build on the success of last year's event. "The Town of Boiling Springs is excited to co- host Webbstock again this year and make it bigger and better," he affi rmed. "The vendors and participants gave the event rave reviews last year, and we look forward to exceeding expectations again this year. Partnering with Gardner- Webb on an event like this puts on display the true 'Town-and-Gown' spirit that happens behind the scenes every day." A variety of food and beverage options will be available throughout the day. Also, for attendees 21 and older, the Broad River Greenway will host a beverage garden in the parking lot that serves downtown businesses. Incrediwear products increase circulation to reduce infl ammation & swelling, relieve pain, restore mobility, and accelerate recovery. Unlike compression products, Incrediwear products do not need to compress to work. Instead, our technology incorporates semiconductor elements within our fabric that releases negative ions when stimulated by body heat. The negative ions activate cellular vibrations that increase blood fl ow and speed. Increasing circulation helps bring more oxygen and nutrients to the target area, which optimizes the body's natural healing process and accelerates post-operative recovery. ©Community First Media Community First Media 356 East Main St., Lawndale 704-538-0508 mainstreethardwareinc.com Mon-Fri. 7:30am-5:30pm; Sat. 8am-4pm Locally Owned & Operated COME IN FOR COME IN FOR OUR BEST PRICE OUR BEST PRICE EVER ON ALL EVER ON ALL MOWERS IN STOCK MOWERS IN STOCK MORE MORE GEORGIA BOOTS GEORGIA BOOTS WE ALSO HAVE WE ALSO HAVE SOCKS & SOCKS & INSOLES INSOLES MOWERS MOWERS IN STOCK!
