Kimball Anderson, CEO of Southern Hills Hospital, was appointed Nevada interim regent for the American College of Healthcare Executives. His term expires in April 2015. Cathe Shandle was promoted to national account manager at Ubiquita, which provides voice and IT services to commercial and retail businesses. The Nevada State Development Corporation started a VetLoan Advantage program that rebates up to $3,000 to veterans starting or expanding small businesses. St. Rose Dominican Hospitals' Rose de Lima campus won a Bariatric Surgery Excellence Award from Healthgrades, a website that links consumers with physicians and hospitals. The hospital was ranked a top performer for bariatric surgery. MassMedia Corporate Communications, a public relations, advertising and marketing firm, has several new health care clients, including Nevada Health CO-OP, Women's Health Associates of Southern Nevada and ABQ Health Partners. Newave, a Las Vegas software supplier to the gaming industry, is installing its TINCheck software at Hollywood Casino in West Virginia and Treasure Island in Minnesota. The program helps casinos verify patrons' addresses and tax ID information. FirstService Residential, a management company, moved its local headquarters to 8290 S. Arville Road, Las Vegas. The company has five offices in the valley. Tatyana Designs, which specializes in contemporary designs inspired by Bettie Page, opened a new location in St. Louis.
