A partir del 3 y 4 de febrero, estu- diantes voluntarios de contabilidad capacitados que hayan aprobado las pruebas de certificación del Servicio de Impuestos Internos estarán dis- ponibles para preparar declaraciones de impuestos sobre la renta como parte del programa de Asistencia Voluntaria a los Contribuyentes (VITA). La Oficina del Vicepresidente de Asuntos Estudiantiles de CSUB, así como la Escuela de Negocios y Ad- ministración Pública, apoyan el pro- grama VITA, que tiene como objetivo ayudar a las personas y familias con bajos ingresos a recibir la ayuda que necesitan para completar sus declara- ciones de impuestos. "Estas preparaciones de impuestos gratuitas proporcionan no solo a los miembros de la comunidad, sino tam- bién a los estudiantes, el personal y la facultad declaraciones de impuestos completas de manera oportuna, lo que les permite recibir créditos fiscales y reembolsos adecuados. Estoy muy orgulloso de los excelentes y dedica- dos servicios de nuestros estudiantes", dijo el Dr. Byoung (Benjamin) Bae, director y coordinador del programa VITA. El programa es especialmente crítico para ayudar a las personas con bajos ingresos a presentar sus impuestos, según el Dr. Bae. "Sin este servicio gratuito, muchas familias de bajos ingresos no tendrían sus impuestos hechos debido al gasto inicial de contratar a un contador o profesional de impuestos", dijo.
