The Chase High School Boys Swim Team won the Mountain Foothills 7 Conference Championship. The conference includes East Rutherford, R-S Central, Chase, Polk County, Brevard, Hendersonville and Patton. The Chase conference winning swimmers are Brandon Reid, Brennen Kingery, Brock Reid, Cameron Leverette, Cayden Holland, Ethan Holland, Isaac Rollins, Izaiah Baynard, Josiah LaNave, Mason White and Micah Owens. Relays: La'Nave, 200 Freestyle freestyle; 400 Freestyle, freestyle; Leverette: 200 Freestyle Freestyle, 400 Freestyle; Rollins, 100 Breaststroke; Reid: 100 Freestyle, 200 Freestyle Freestyle, 400 Freestyle Freestyle; White: 200 Freestyle Freestyle, 400 Freestyle Freestyle; The Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy (TJCA) boys swim team are champions in the 1A/2A conference, with 388 points. Schools in the conference are Burns, Crest, East Gaston, Highland Tech, Kings Mountain, Shelby and TJCA. The TJCA conference champions in 1A/2 and Chase High School's men's conference champions in Mountain Foothills 7 Conference will compete in regionals on Saturday, Feb. 4 in Charlotte and then on to the State fi nals. The Chase High School girls swim team won the 2023 county championships between East, R-S Central and Chase. Championship swimmers from Chase are Anndrea Jackson, Braylen Morrow, Katherine Lawson, Merritt Jones, Michelle Malcolm, Peyton Arrowood, Sadie White, Savannah Smith and Zaley Packett. The East Rutherford men's county champs are Parker Emery, Lucas Harris, Ben Jordan, Garrett Lawing, Conner Ledbetter, Zander McKinney, Cooper Oglesby, Chase Pacheco, John Rich, Maddox Robbins, Jacob Shuford, Beckett Webber.
