Morgan (Lennie James, who also directed two of the episodes here) and his followers have to renegotiate their way through what already was a bleak Texas atmosphere, with certain parties disagreeing over exactly how to proceed ... which only adds to the already considerable strife. The cast is marked by various comings and goings, but Colman Domingo, Mo Collins, Karen David, Jenna Elfman and Keith Carradine are present. DVD extras: audio commentary by cast and crew members on several episodes. ››› (Not rated: AS, P, V) (Also on Blu-ray and Digital) "THE RETURN OF TANYA TUCKER: FEATURING BRANDI CARLILE" Tucker was among the first major female country-music artists at a time when there still weren't many of them, using a self- styled and somewhat rebellious image to build a sizable fan base ... but she fell on hard times professionally, with her once- successful career taking a big hit. One of her successors on the charts and in concert, Carlile was inspired to put her on the comeback trail by composing an entire album for her – and this documentary, a film-festival favorite last year, traces that process. It also spends quite a bit of time on Tucker's history, explaining how she attained a stature that made Carlile want to invest so much time and energy into giving her such a public rebirth. ››› (R: AS, P) (Also on Blu- ray, Digital and On Demand) "THE ESTATE" A terrific acting ensemble adds extra punch to this dark comedy about relatives who vie to inherit a family member's fortune. Toni Collette and Anna Faris play sisters who are in business together, but that may not last much longer unless they become beneficiaries of their terminally ill aunt (Kathleen Turner). Others hope to claim their own stake to the wealth, putting the notion that blood runs deeper than money to a big test. Writer-director Dean Craig's cast also includes David Duchovny and real-life spouses Rosemarie DeWitt and Ron Livingston. ››› (R: AS, N, P) "GOOD GIRLS: THE COMPLETE SERIES" This seriocomic NBC series, about several women who become unlikely partners in crime, drew enough of a following to merit a three-season run. Christina Hendricks ("Mad Men"), Mae Whitman ("Arrested Development") and Retta ("Parks and Recreation") play the ladies whose respective circumstances prompt them to band together to improve their financial circumstances ... but through decidedly illegal means, since they rob a supermarket. That sets off an ongoing trail of felonious matters for them, ultimately putting not just their freedom at risk, but their very lives. Reno Wilson, Manny Montana and Matthew Lillard also are in the regular cast. ››› (Not rated: AS, P, V) (Also on Blu-ray) "GERRY ANDERSON: A LIFE UNCHARTED" If you're familiar with such series as "Thunderbirds," "Stingray" and "Space: 1999," you know the work of producer Anderson, who used marionettes and miniatures to great extents to tell fantasy sagas that continue to endure (proven by the fact that MeTV has been running "Thunderbirds" on weekends). This documentary uses extensive material from Anderson's personal archives to tell his story, also integrating comments from colleagues. Of course, there's also a wealth of clips from the programs they generated some classic TV characters, whether they were truly human or literally having their strings pulled by others. ››› (Not rated) "THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH: SEASON ONE" It has familiar elements from earlier incarnations, but this Showtime series version (which ended up having only this one season) uses those largely to go its own way. Following the Walter Tevis novel and the David Bowie-starring 1976 movie, this take on the story of an alien who comes to our planet casts Chiwetel Ejiofor ("12 Years a Slave," "Love Actually") as an extraterrestrial named Faraday, whose presence on Earth could dictate the future of mankind – something that already started to be charted by Thomas Jerome Newton, the Bowie character who's portrayed here by another "Love Actually" alum, Bill Nighy. Naomie Harris ("Moonlight," "Skyfall") also has a prominent role as a scientist who monitors the situation closely. Jimmi Simpson, Rob Delaney, Kate Mulgrew and Clarke Peters are among other cast regulars. Executive producers include Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet, who worked together previously on "Clarice." ››› (Not rated: AS, N, P, V) (Also on Blu-ray) Chiwetel Ejiofor "That was brutal, but you do what you've got to do. And then when it's not there, you think, 'Whoa! How did I do that?'
