The Contractor receiving the Award shall furnish the Owner an approved performance bond and an approved payment bond (labor and materials), each in an amount at least equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the BID amount, both of which shall remain in full effect throughout the duration of the project plus a period of twelve (12) months following the Date of Substan- tial Completion of the project. These bonds shall be furnished by the Contractor to the Owner following issuance of the Notice of Award. 12.28 and 1.4.2023 hspaxlp CITY OF PETERSBURG ORDINANCE 2022- 17 AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE DISPOSAL OF HOUSEHOLD TRASH INCLUDING PROHIBITION IN CITY OWNED TRASH CONTAINERS WHEREAS, the City of Petersburg has the authority and the duty to regulate those matters affecting the health, safety and quality of life issues in the City; and, WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the City that individuals are placing household trash, garbage and re- fuse in City owned trash cans/containers that are placed in the City for use by pedestrian traffic, to dispose of a single item or a few items left from an immediate use; and Whereas, the placing of residential trash or a collective of trash items will create, in the very least an annoyance of overflowing trash cans, and in certain instances, possible public nuisances; NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED AS FOLLOWS: 1. City Code section "7.08.060 Disposal" shall now read as follows: It shall be unlawful to place and/or dispose of any household garbage, refuse or ashes except in properly constructed containers of 100 gallon capacity or less, owned by the landowner or a collection service, for curbside or street side collection by said collection service. Provided however, residents of the County may avail themselves of self disposal at any of the County run collection sites, following the rules thereof. City owned, sidewalk placed trash containers are for use by pedestrian traffic, to dispose of a single item or a few items left from an immediate consumption or use of a product. The placing of household trash, garbage and refuse in City owned trash cans/containers is hereby prohibited. Recommended fines for first, second, third and additional offenses are $25, $50, and $100 respectively. This ordinance shall be effective after its second publi- cation as provided by law. The remainder of City Code 7.08 remains unchanged.
