The Greeneville Sun, Greeneville, TN December 31, 2022 - January 6, 2023 — 25 4 x 4" ad lifecare center Sudoku (filled by client) Celebrity Scoop Celebrity Scoop By Jay Bobbin A decade into his role as part of "One Chicago," Taylor Kinney is anything but tired of the Windy City. As NBC's Dick Wolf-produced drama "Chicago Fire" resumes its 11th season with new episodes Wednesday, Jan. 4, the actor's Lt. Kelly Severide has plenty of new situations to occupy his interest. Now married to colleague Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo), with both imperiled by a grenade in the December "fall finale," he's often finding himself enmeshed in inves - tigations that have him as much a detective as a firefighter. Also seen regularly in repeats on USA Network and ION Television, "Chicago Fire" remains a comfort- Checking in with Taylor Kinney able television home for Kinney, who says he continues to appreciate "the opportunity to do what we're doing. I thank Dick Wolf and (fellow executive producer) Peter Jankowski, who's an unsung hero ... I love that man. To everybody involved, I'm forever grateful." Putting his all into his "Chicago Fire" work is standard operating procedure for Kinney, who believes that approach is shared widely among his co-workers. He reflects, "I hope I don't get to a point in my life — or in this life, anyway — where I look back and say, 'I shoul - da, I coulda, I woulda.' And I don't think anybody I work with is doing that, either. We're doing something special, and I don't think that any- body is taking it for granted." "Chicago Fire" fans clearly don't, and Kinney embraces them ... of- ten literally, as can be seen in pho- tos on social media. "I'm not jok- ing that when people come up to me, I say, 'I wouldn't have a job if you didn't watch.' I'm thankful, so it's a communal affair. It's not lost on me, and it means the world." By now, you're probably done with the holidays and the expense, unhealthy eating and sheer volume of extra work that comes with them. And you're ready to get out and away from it all. There's no better way to do that than on top of a mountain, staring down at an expert trail and ready to take on whatever moguls, jumps or scary vertical drops it has to throw at you. But while skiing can be a very freeing sport, it clearly isn't for everyone as any ski resort ER doctor or nurse will attest. You can, however, enjoy the beauty of skiing through film, and what follows are a few that you can watch today on streaming. "Eddie the Eagle" (Available for rent on Prime Video, Apple TV+, Vudu, Redbox): From England and director Dexter Fletcher comes this delightful, if somewhat fictionalized 2015 biopic based on the life and career of British ski jumper Michael "Eddie" Edwards (Taron Egerton) as he trains for the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, Alberta. Hugh Jackman, Christopher Walken, Keith Allen and Jim Broadbent are also in the talented cast. "Force Majeure" (Streams for free on Spectrum, Kanopy, Pluto): A man's self- ish reaction to the danger posed by an avalanche causes rifts in his marriage and family life in this 2014 dark come- dy from Sweden that was later remade in the U.S. as "Downhill" in 2020. Johannes Kuhnke, Lisa Loven Kongsli, Clara Wettergren star. "Ski School" (Tubi, Vudu): It's the rich snobs versus the party animals in director Damian Lee's very lightweight 1990 comedy about the on- and off- slope rivalry between two factions at a skiing school. Guess who wins. Dean Cameron, Tom Bresnahan and Patrick Labyorteaux head the cast. That will require them to make some connections with other humans, though, which isn't easy for either of them. Kristin Dodson co-stars. "The Wall: Red Nose Day" (NBC — notable epi- sode, May 27) This year's edition of Comic Relief USA's annual fundraiser campaign to end child poverty is anchored by a special edition of this hit game show hosted by Chris Hardwick, himself a longtime supporter of the campaign. The hour will feature Jon and Stephanie, a community-focused couple from Houston who play the game hoping to earn some life-changing cash for themselves. While Hardwick cheers them on, he also tests his own skills at the game to raise money for Red Nose Day. 2 x 2" ad buttercup boutique 2 x 2.5" ad Amedisya classifi edsads@greenevillesun.com *Larger sizes available We'll Help Y Celebrate! To solve a sudoku, the numbers 1 through 9 must fi ll each row, column and box. Each number can appear only once in each row, column and box. You can fi gure out the order in which the numbers will appear by using the numeric clues already provided in the boxes. The more numbers you name, the easier it gets to solve the puzzle!
