She was born in Cleveland County, NC, daughter of the late Grady Otto and Evelyn Martin Bennett and was pre- ceded in death by her hus- band, Carol T. Ledford. Connie was also preced- ed in death by her brother, Stonewall Jackson Bennett and a grandson. She is survived by her children: Scott Ledford and wife Angie, Rock Hill, SC, Barry T. Ledford and wife Tina, Kings Mountain, NC, and Karen Roberts and hus- band Craig, Topsail Beach, NC; sister: Gay Bennett Shockley, Gastonia, NC; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and sister-in- law: Pat Champion. Funeral service was held December 18, 2022 at Boyce Memorial ARP Church with Reverend Dr. Rob Patrick officiating. Interment was at Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC. He is survived by his wife, Janith Hamrick Hensley of the home; daughters, Jeri Ann Cash and husband Bill of Wilmington and Jill Hensley of Bostic; six grand- children; and two great- grandchildren. He was born in Gaston County, NC, son of the late Johnny Eugene Fortenberry Sr. and Eunivie Mathis Fortenberry and was pre- ceded in death by his sister, Diane Fortenberry. ROBIN LEE SOLIS Robin Lee Solis, 63, of New Britian, CT passed away on Sunday December 18, 2022. Born in Middleton, CT, she was the daughter of the late Christopher Atkinson and Beulah Stocking Atkinson. Surviving Ms. Solis is a daughter, Sabrina Solis (CT); Brother, Edward Atkinson (CT); sister, Merry (Leo) Williams of Blacksburg; and four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. At this time no services are planned. WILLIAM "PRESTON" GREEN William "Preston" Greene, age 77, of Ellenboro, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022. Preston was born Thursday, June 28, 1945 in Gaston County to the late William Russell Greene and Virginia Caldwell Greene. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Fowler Greene; brothers, Roy Allen Greene, Charles Russell Greene, Ronnie Lee Greene; and a sister, Christine Greene Padgett. Those left to cherish his memory are his chil- dren, William Preston "Bill" Greene, Jr., Alan Dale Greene (Linda), Shannon Denise Greene and Crystal Faye Greene all of Ellenboro; sister, Patsy Greene Self (Leonard) of Boiling Springs, NC; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grand- children and one great-great grandchild.
