Parmer received a bachelor of arts in media from the Media School at Indiana University in 2021. He's originally from Columbus, where his parents still live. He now lives in Bloomington. Parmer is not a stranger to Brown County, having spent as much time as he can hiking and exploring trails in Brown County State Park with his family and friends. He's done contract work and internships with Minnesota Public Radio and Jacob's School of Music at Indiana University. In that approach, Parmer plans to engage with people, shar- ing stories that inspire and spread a "mes- sage that matters," he said. "My approach to the job is to connect with the community and share its many voices," he said. "I am looking very forward to meeting members of the Brown County community and learn- ing their names and faces. Brown County and the town of Nashville within it has so far been noth- ing but a pleasure to uncover and experience, and I sense that feeling won't wear off anytime soon."
