Burton Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the family. YATES RAY McGINNIS Mr. Yates Ray McGinnis, 96, of Cherryville, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022. Yates was born on October 8, 1926 in Gaston County, a son of the late Ervin S. McGinnis and Mae Bivens McGinnis. He served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. In addition to his parents he was pre- ceded in death by a brother, Billy Wayne McGinnis. Survivors include two sons, Todd McGinnis and wife Cathy of Marshville; Doug McGinnis and wife Nancy of Statesville; a sis- ter, Corinne Mauney of Cherryville; an adopted son, Kevin Parker of Cherryville. Also surviving are numer- ous grandchildren and great grandchildren. A graveside service was held December 4, 2022 at City Memorial Cemetery in Cherryville with military hon- ors and masonic rites. RICKY DWAYNE ALEXANDER Ricky Dwayne Alexander, age 60, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022. Born in Cleveland County on April 5, 1962, he was the son of the late Bonnie Hugh Wright and Sarah Self Alexander. In addition to his parents, Ricky is preceded in death by sisters, Kay Clary, and her husband, C.B. Jr., Wanda Griffin and her husband, John; sisters-in-law, Diane Searcy Alexander, Diane Allen Alexander; and brother- in-law, Gene Mayhue. He was born on March 14, 1927 in Hildebran, NC. Mr. Setzer served our country in the U.S. Navy during the World War II. J.L. was preced- ed in death by his parents, Albert Lee Setzer and Carrie Ola Eckard Setzer; and his wife, Frankie Bolch. Born in Chatham County, Georgia on March 11, 1972 she was the daughter of the late Ernest Floyd Truelove, Jr. and Dorothy "Dot" Louise Oaks Truelove. Tammy is survived by her husband, John Douglas Morrison; her two sons, Waylon and Brandon of Shelby; one brother, Scott Truelove of Boiling Springs; father-in-law, Steve Morrison of Casar; and mother-in-law, Patricia Morrison of Shelby. Born in Chapel Hill on June 17th, 1959, Buddy was a native of Cleveland County and the son of the late Lewis Lyndon Hobbs III, "Lyn," and Helen Stephenson Hobbs. He is survived by his wife, Kesha Anthony Hobbs; chil- dren: Lewis Lyndon Hobbs V, Patrick Anthony Hobbs, and Alesha Lane Hobbs; and sisters: Margret Hobbs Collins and her husband, Ray of Winston Salem, and Gretchen Hobbs Donaldson of Pittsboro. He was the son of the late William Evans Crowder and Gertrude Austell Crowder. James was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Hopper Crowder and his sons, James Love Crowder Jr and Todd Crowder. He was born on May 29, 1933. John was preceded in death by an infant son; his parents, John E. and Sarah Vela Herndon Yarbro; and his siblings: Carrie Patterson, Julia Huffstetler, Ed Yarbro, George Yarbro, and Ava Sipes. Mr. Yarbro served our country during the Korean War.
