My name is David Haywood, and I'm the new manager of the Ruch branch of Jackson County Library Services (JCLS). I've been with JCLS going on three years and have been a resident of Oregon since 2016. I grew up in North County, San Diego, in a town called Vista. If you're a beer drinker, you might know a few of the breweries that have popped up in Vista in the last decade or two. If you aren't, then you probably don't know of it, which is why, most of the time, I just tell people I'm from San Diego and leave it at that. My family of origin still lives there, and I miss them, but I do not miss California. More and more, southern Oregon is feeling like home. Around my 21st birthday, I up and moved to San Francisco for the better part of a decade. While pursuing my degree in English literature at San Francisco State University, I met the woman who is now my wife and the mother of our six-year- old boy. Yesterday, I brought him by the branch and received his seal of approval, so it looks like I'm here to stay!
