The Daily Star, Oneonta, N.Y., Friday, November 25, 2022 20 By Raye Smith TV Media Fates of fancy: Would you leave your future up to fate? In discovery+'s new reality dating series, "Written in the Stars," a group of hopeful singles put this question to the test as they lay their love lives in the hands of the powers that be while searching for their perfect match. It all begins Sunday, Nov. 27. The series sees BAFTA award-winning British broad- caster, DJ and podcaster Clara Amfo ("The One Show") take up hosting duties, acting as a sort of reality-TV Cupid to match up 12 singles and find them their one true love. But rather than rely on looks, life goals, common interests or any other kind of standard compatibility, the series crite- ria focuses of the participants' star signs and astrological birth charts to determine their ideal partner. The matchmaking won't be left up entirely to Amfo, how- ever. Onboard for the series' first season are astrologers Francesca Oddie, Michele Knight and Colin Bedell, all of whom specialize in birth chart matching. And keeping in line with other hit social-experiment- leaning reality shows such as "Love Island" and "Too Hot to Handle," "Written in the Stars" figures there's no better way for contestants to get to know each other than by being se- cluded at a luxurious, sunny re- sort, where all the action and drama can be captured on camera 24/7. For this series, the lucky singles are afforded a full lunar cycle (the course of a month) at a sun-soaked villa on the Greek Peninsula. "If you are curious about as- trology, if you're cynical about it or if you are open to it, this show is for you," Amfo said in a statement about the show. "Is a Taurus match for a Scor- pio best, do fire signs make the hottest matches or will they snuff each other out? Are Geminis all chaotic?!" Find out if the astrologers can get the flames of romance burning or if the matches fizzle out fast when "Written in the Stars" premieres Sunday, Nov. 27, on discovery+. realtalk Clara Amfo hosts "Written in the Stars" B/The Pine Shop 6 x 7.5 Finishing is Availabl Bookshelves 20% off Desks 20% off Children's Rockers and Kids Tables and Chairs 20% off Great Gifts that Last Happy Holidays le Blanket Chest 20% off
